found it in 2015 when I was 23, think I searched for Chris Harper Mercer and suddenly landed on /r9k.

i came to 4chan literally a year ago
heard about it several times before but i didn't have internet in my house for years, so i just never bothered checking it out until 2014. there are probably still a fuckton of other sites i haven't experienced yet that i don't even know about, but all i know is that i'm fucking done with forums and anonymous shitposting is the way to go. when i first started i mainly just lurked ylyl and gore threads on /b/ occasionally, then started full on shitposting in /a/ for a few months, then started getting a taste for most of the other boards.
fast forward a year later and /v/ and /r9k/ are my most browsed boards now, /a/ is complete meme-ridden cancer, and ylyl threads on /b/ are shit now that i've seen everything.

I honestly don't remember where I originally heard about 4chan from. I didn't start regularly visiting the site until 2006 when /co/ was added and I was 23 at that time.
