You are although before Christianity was legal in the Roman Empire they actually couldn't and the unbaptized Christians had to leave before the liturgy of the Eucharist. Non-Catholics are not, however, allowed to partake in the Eucharist.

Well the size of the building itself would probably be a good way to gauge how many people attend. There's probably more people in Cathedrals than in living room services. You should look into the Church's theology before you attend as well. The largest Church in Australia is incredibly liberal, and you aren't likely to find someone particularly traditional there. And I figured you were an atheist because you're using church as a dating service. There are plenty on bi/gay Christians that just don't indulge the desire, so I don't think it's a good way to know if a person's religious or not.
