I'm fascinated with the MBTI. Ever since graduating high school, I've been trimming so many people out of my life. Lately all I really do is smoke weed, play video games, go to work, and read books when I'm not at school. The plus side is that I've been able to expand my general knowledge on things since thats all I have time to do anymore and I don't feel the need to put myself around idiots just to not feel lonely anymore. The downside is that I'm REALLY lonely now. I have 1 best friend but she recently got a boyfriend and doesn't usually have time for me anymore.
I"m a f INFJ and I really wish I could find more INFP and ENTP friends.
What's your type, robots?

I don't understand my feelings or relate to 95% of people.

INTP, the most patrician of all MBTI types
>>
Guess for me:
http://strawpoll.me/6379380
>>
>>25453364
I took a spiritual psychology class in high school and got INFJ on multiple MBTI tests and I'm a 7+1+3=0 on the Enneagram test (with a 6 wing)
>>
>>25453364
ISTP, which is a bretty good type of guy, family
>>
>>25453417
I feel really skeptical when people identify as INTJ just because its often seen as the master race type. A lot of the times I find that ISTJs misinterpret themselves as INTJs.
>>25453456
I fucking love INTPs, they're like puppies. I had a INTP friend in high school who was in my film study class who would spend hours talking to me about his music theories. For the most part, I'd listen intently but other times it was comforting just to hear someone talk about something so passionately. He loved having someone listen to his ideas, too so it worked.
>>
>>25453364
I'll be your friend OP. I'm so ENTP it hurts.
>>
>>25453508
My best friend is an ISTP. Probably the only Sensing type I can tolerate, haha.

Taken the test several times and always gotten INTJ, I'm an autistic cunt which seems to fit the brief.
>>
>>25453549
How are you so ENTP? Indulge me in your habits, friend.
>>25453503
I never really looked into the Enneagram test, though.. I dont know what the numbers or wings mean haha
>>

>I feel really skeptical when people identify as INTJ just because its often seen as the master race type. A lot of the times I find that ISTJs misinterpret themselves as INTJs.

INTJ is extremely common on 4chan compared to the general public because of the nature of the website, its culture, and the userbase.

You don't really think that people have anything to gain by posting "I'm INTJ" without any additional info, right? This place is filled with us.
>>
>>25453593
I suppose that's also true... but I feel like R9k is filled most with feelers... and I dont necessarily mean in regards to bragging right but moreso like.. they want to feel like the most special type, you know?
>>
>>25453642

I see where you're coming from but it would strike me as incredibly odd that someone would see INTJ as being 'the special type' in 4chan threads, given the sheer number of them here.

Assuming you've been here for any amount of time at all (with your interest in MBTIs) you must have noticed how many INTJs are here, right?

Keep in mind that the Thinking-Feeling (T-F) dichotomy refers to decision-making. /r9k/ has a lot of feels but if you pay attention to the long posts/greentexts about feels here it seems like people here are more likely to reason out their decisions (thinking) than to make them based on mere feelings. If they decided based on their feelings then they'd be more likely to have gfs and whatever else they're looking for, I think.
>>
>>25453593
If you're an INTJ, you should post a picture of your eyes... if you dont mind.

>>
>>25453725
Well I mean it's more of a special snowflake sydrome. I knew multiple people irl who were all, "I am INTJ masterrace" and they were so obviously feelers with a really unhealthy self esteem so they personify themselves as tougher than they actually are. They were also really bad at grasping/caring about theories and other concepts which is pretty common with sensors.
I guess it really depends on how you see people. I know that I am much more well spoken with the written word than the spoken one so someone who didnt know me would percieve me as being able to articulate myself well and maybe even charismatic when really I feel like I am miserable at conveying my thoughts to people IRL and end up feeling terribly misunderstood. People are different online lol
>>
>>25453732

What for? I don't mind doing it, but I am curious about your reason for asking.

I should mention that I'm:

>>25453725
>>25453593

but not >>25453417

>>25453934

Interesting. I don't necessarily disagree with you, but you should know that there are plenty of INTJs on 4chan. I'm sure some aren't really and answer questions dishonestly in a way that gives them other results but I doubt that it's a very significant number in the grand scheme of things.

This is a safe space ;^)*
>>
>>25453847
I'm sorry if you feel that way. This is just coming from my own experience. I knew this guy who said wanted to expose his own brain to gamma waves because he thoughti t would make him smarter. He also got REALLY upset whenever I disagreed with him even if it was completely in an unhostile setting. I identified him as an ISFP but he wore trench coats and cabbie hats like his own version of a fedora.
I'm just being critical since only approx 1.5% of the worlds population is an INTJ and if their self-identifications are correct, then there seems to be an unprecedentedly high number of INTJs where I live.
I'm also really jaded and bitter retail whore, so that might also make me seem really arrogant.
>>
>>25454084
Fair enough, saying a group of people are like 'puppies' triggers me because I really hate arrogant people desu.

INTP though if you're interested. Never met another person who has taken the test other than my mate who is ISTP.

Enneagram and Jung's psychological types are better.

MBTI is arguably based on a misinterpretation of Jung.
>>
>>25454001
Well I have an INTJ friend (Happens to also be a clinically diagnosed sociopath) and he seems really good at identifying a person's type by looking at their eyes. He used Jamie from Mythbusters as an example saying that "he has INTJ eyes" so I'm trying to understand what he's getting at.
>>
>>25454116
Well I mean puppies as in they have this almost innocent passion in things. Like they'll often go on and on about a topic and be oblivious to the fact that they're actually a 100lb saint bernard jumping on the unsuspecting mailman. they dont care, they're just happy to talk about whatever. It wasn't meant to be an insult, haha. He wont realize he's been talking about Red Hot Chilli Peppers for half an hour because he's REALLY. into what he's talking about.
>>25454129
I'll have to re-look into enneagrams in that case. I've got 2 books on Jung that I've yet to read, one on his archetypes and collective unconscious and the other on dream theory buut right now I'm reading the lucifer effect.
>>
>>25454141

Interesting. Thanks for sharing.

As requested,
>>
>>25454213
If you're interested in MBTI's relation to Jung, the article to read is Jung's Psychological Types:
http://psychclassics.yorku.ca/Jung/types.htm

I like the Enneagram because it's more holistic and describes a wide spectrum of healthy/unhealthy patterns of behavior in a single type.

You have nice eyes :)
I wanna say I see a similarity but truth be told, I wouldn't be able to point out a person's type solely based on their eyes.
>>
>>25454276
Did you look into Direction of Integration and Disintegration? Did you agree with it?
>>
>>25454276
>http://psychclassics.yorku.ca/Jung/types.htm
I'll definitely bookmark this and read it tomorrow (i'm way too shot to read anything heavy right now, haha.)
>>
>>25454355

Thanks blood.

I wouldn't be able to tell either, though it would be interesting to try. Maybe I'll try to set up a short quiz that has pics of people's eyes (people whose MBTI is confirmed) and see if anyone can be correct at all.

You should try this with your friend even if I don't get around to something more structured.

I feel like you can tell a lot by someone's eyes but I'm not sure what exactly. I'm very accurate at spotting INTJs in real life but that's usually just because they're similar to me in interests and behaviors.
>>
>>25454361
I think Enneagram works best at its simplest--just the type descriptions and levels of health. The tritypes and maybe even wings seem a little iffy.

Integration/disintegration also seems a bit superfluous and suspect. I see how they could be interpreted to work, but I don't see them as necessary or really useful.
>>
>>25454361
I can't say that I have, but if you'd like to add me on skype or something and we can talk about it once I've looekd into it?
>>25454407
That actually sounds like a good idea. None of my friends really look into the MBTI very much so I dont have any friends to practice with.
>>25454423
So what you guys are getting at is that the enneagram is one basic concept and then there are multiple mods that people add to personify it more?
>>
>>25454494
Yes. At the simplest level, there are the 9 types and descriptions of them, like MBTI. There are also healthy/unhealthy levels.

Then, after that, you get a bunch of other stuff that's not really as developed or necessary, imho.
>>
>>25454564
Doesnt the MBTI share unhealthy characteristics of each type as well?
I think I should be headed to bed now, though. Work tomorrow and everyhting
>>
ISTP reporting in, the best type of introverted thinkers
>>
>>25454595
Not really in the same way as the Enneagram.

The Enneagram also doesn't make all the clean hard distinctions between T and F, etc, which always seemed a bit silly to me because everyone thinks and feels to various degrees, so characterizing a "51% T" INTP as some kind of Computer Science Robot isn't particularly useful.

I tested INTP every time I took it. I'm a mathematician. I have a really disorderly lifestyle and do everything on a whim. I also like chess and guitar. I get really obsessed with theory any time I learn about anything. I wouldn't call myself an academic even though I am one. I'm a huge slacker.
Socially I'm somewhat awkward but drinking fixes it and I have different people I hang out with. I feel overall lonely though. Finding girls to relate to is hard. So I settled four ones I didn't relate to before. Never lasted.
