When you choose your keyboard, don't worry too much about sound - you're going to be using vsts exclusively soon enough. The important part is that it should have 88 weighted keys, and it should be MIDI compatible.
Even for piano there are some nice vsts around - this is a little impro using Piano in Blue, for example:

i'm not a key board player but i am a musician so ill give you the best advice i ever got " play by ear ". itll come in handy if you ever get serious.
