Was being a 2000s kid actually great or am I just being nostalgic? For your information, you're a 2000s kids if you spent the majority of your school years in the 2000s, preferably the early ones. So if you're born somewhere between 1989 and 1998, you're a 2000s kid.

I feel sorry for the kids born before us who never knew the joy of growing up with the internet, aswell as the kids born after us who all grew up with their smartphones, ipads and mandatory facebook-accounts.

And kids born in the 70's will pity you. Kids born in the 00's will pity you. People born 2050's will pity you.

The music was fitting for us. For the first time ever robots could bond with each other all over the world in online games, forums and imageboards. We became a market for the edgelord music that came to define our lives.

As a person who started college in 2004, all of you faggots ruined facebook with your myspace tier bullshit. fb used to be comfy af. Also, my generation grew up with easily accessible internet porn. In the mid 90s on dial up I was still getting porn, maybe not high def but who needs to see some snatch in HD anyway.

also

>wow sucks
>naruto really sucks
>wanting to live through war
>music really sucked

The internet was fun though. Before normies and children got their hands on it. In 2004 I met some slut off of AOL chat and fucked her. She was 29 and I was 17. I wish I could have my secret club back for sure.

How are these right? We had lots of social media and you could easily get porn on the net in the 90s.

I dont know, maybe its because I hated being a kid I dont have any nostalgia.
I do agree that video games got so much shittier though especially because all these shit indie games and dlc cancer.

Was born in May 97
So I guess I;m a 2000s kid, the only tie I have to the 90s is me being born in it but I was fucking 3 when it came to an end, the only contact I remember having with it was watching VHS tapes of movies and shows from it in the early 2000s and occasionally they show some shit from it on TV

All the 90s kids were already out highschool by that time so yeah

Growing up in the 2000s sucked balls, inner city ghetto black culture had taken control over all music, social media had taken off before 2010 even showed up

It's only gotten worse since then but the 60s, 70s, and 80s truly were the peak, 0 social media, 0 feminism, 0 SJWism, 0 nogs dominating our culture, all the guys were relatively based and wanted to be your buddy, and all the girls were nice and bubbly and wanted to be your fuck buddy

Now unless you act like a dipshit, listen to inner city nig nogs rapping about drugs and killing, dress like a faggot, tout the leftist SJW shit all the time, and spam pound symbols, then you are officially outside of the main crowd of people.

My mom talks about going to college and everyone was constantly talking and hanging out, smoking pot and listening to rock music and she doesn't say but I can infer that there was a lot of casual sex (not that shit where all the girls only go after chads, I mean like fucking everyone could do it)

Now I can go into class and everyone is either half asleep, texting, or doesnt wanna talk to anyone (not even each other)

Outside of class its the same
I can be in lines with 30 people for food and its the same

I dont even think the normies socialize with eachother in person that much anymore
I think they are starting to abandon real life interaction and normify technology and use that

I was at my grandmas house a few days ago and my 9 year old cousin was on her fucking phone the entire time
Wanting to take fucking selfies

It wasn't the same because social media wasn't mandatory and really only used by a few special snowflakes with odd interests. The average Stacy and Chad didn't have a myspace account or a facebook account before 2008 somewhere. Nothing was connected to this as it is now when everything circles around your internet profile.

I assumed porn wasn't as easy because most people didn't even have internet in the 1990s.

>>25406204
I got my facebook in 2008 when I was 17 and it was absolute horseshit then, even more than now because most people moved to instagram for their pictures.

I had facebook from 2004 and it required your college email address. It was fantastic for keeping in touch with people I graduated HS with, and also for meeting new people on campus. Shit was comfy.

I also had a myspace during that time but that was more like, for talking to sluts in towns surrounding my own and getting some. myspace was like a massive dating website whereas facebook was like, an actual social network. Once they put in the "news feed" and allowed people without college emails on fb, it became cancer. I seriously never thought that memes would be something normal people talk about or use. btw I joined 4chan in 2007-2008, I was playing pokemon world online and someone mentioned it

I'm born in 86 and I sincerely don't know which point of the above is supposed to be good except maybe the usefullness of the internet and the Potter books that many seem to like.

I mean was is obviously shitty, we don't have to talk about this. Shitty reboots everybody hates.. great.

As for easily accessible porn, I only fap to traditional stuff like the face features, hips, cleavage, legs, feet and etc. so that does not make a big difference for me but I can see why it's so prejudicial to many. People lack self control and get too easily excited with certain images.

meant to say 86 not 98, I copied the later number from the OP

mhm, I don't get how one can think spending 3+ hours a day playing video games is in any way good.
I played Finaly Fantasy VII and C&C in 97, and some Lucas Arts games, but I didn't do that beyond school.
How is this "social status", it doesn't get you anything in life

I know I don't get far on 4chan saying anime and video games are a waste of time, but at least I'd hope there are some people who agree and just stick to it because they like it, not <actually> think the emergence of MMORPGs is something positive

PS
I remember going to an internet lounge (paying 5 Euro to browse the internet for an hour or so) and secretly downloading 9 images of women in bikini on the beach (including Claudia Schiffer) on my USB drive, so I could watch them on my Personal Computer at home.
I had great faps this way.

And I don't see why it would have benefited me in any way straight out of my teen years I knew people could get so numbed to just regular porn videos, that they'd turn and get off to face fucking, let alone sticking womens faces in toilets and whatever.
I'm not really judging here, I'm just saying that if I'd needed that at this age or earlier, I would think my perception of sex would be a sick one.

Anon, I've had internet access since 1994 or so and I don't think I was even that early. That being said all internet before social media was great. Social media and normies trampling the internet is what made this place such shit that it is. And this includes a lot of 4chan too, especially /b/.

>>25406513
You don't seem like a robot then. Reality was always shit for us, video games allowed us to hide away somewhere but online games is what truly changed our life. In WoW I made friends and got a social status because my character was fucking good. I even had a online gf at some point although that was in Maple Story.

I know this probably sounds pathetic but if it wasn't for games, I would've been even more lonely.

I think he means you can have one-one conversations with anyone, especially after you had a chat and exchange information. Everybody has a phone now too, even 5 year olds. Before, if you're any sort of sperg level, you couldn't even talk to the people on the table up the social letter, and you'd have to read the paper or take word of mouth to find your local chess club.

I have friends who drifted into online gaming, and who are NEET to this day and spend their time binge watching all the old Stargate episodes and so on.
I'm not a robot, sure, but those people also would have other options - I would have liked to interact with them more but these are of course the kind of people who get stressed and bitter when at a party for 15 minutes (>is this what normies understand by having fun) and so I'd argue they don't WANT to meet new people, i.e. they don't gather the energy to actually go through the moves of getting an bros.
Being extremely introverted must suck, but I'm sure without the developement of the web, at least some of them would have been forced to not become those piss bottle boys.

We would take turns playing Xbox. all we did was play San Andreas until i got an Xbox360. I played so much halo and cod it was not even funny. '93 here, I agree with you for the most part, kikebook took over when I was in highschool, I feel like social interactions are broken due to technology, and most people live their life not trying to have fun but trying to appear cool on social medias. It's like doing something per se doesn't make sense anymore, I'm always appaled when I see the number of tools that film with their phones at concert just to prove on fb they were here, having a good time, instead of ACTUALLY enjoying the show. Social medias make people so fucking shallow and narcissistic.

Absolutely wrong.

You're correct only if you consider each era to be similar in terms of progression and change, but when you consider the 2000s as the era in which the internet boomed then your idea is wrong.

Yeh i realise that someone born in the industrial age or when cars became affordable or even in the future when they make VR might say that their era was awesome because of the change, but objectively the internet has had a larger effect on the individual than any other large change has.

Mainly due to the advantages, fun, exploration of the internet only bring perceptible to those that lived through the transition (hence why today kids are so used to the internet that they can't see how big of a change it had on everyone).
