Why is it depressing for you?
>>
I actually wish i never quit that job.

>had money in my pocket

>would notice girls looking at ne when i was working

I even got a number once. Nothing really happened with it but it was a cool thing. And my co-workers weren't even that bad. I miss that job sometimes.
>>
>>25405079
I worked at McDonald's for while. It really is fucking shit. Not so much because of the actual work involved (which is admittedly bad) but because of the fact most who worked there were 16-20 year old normies and it was in such a small space where you had no room to breath or get away from people. I work in a supermarket now and much prefer it.

I was asked to work during a day shift. (i usually worked overnight stocking shelves) and the back room was a fucking shitstorm with empty cardboard boxes everywhere. No one besides me, the manager and me supervisor really new how to use the bailer.

Looking back I definitely over reacted. But it wasnt the first time co-workers were being lazy. I should of just cleaned thier ness like i always did
>>
>>25404924
I've never stocked shelves, but it seems like a comfy job.

You don't have to talk to anyone and all you have to do is a labor unintensive, relaxing menial task. (based on what I assume, I mean.)

I told my manager Im going back to school, and it conflicts with my current schedule. Hopefully I get changed to a place where there is little to no interaction with normies.
>>
>>25405238
It sounds fine on paper, but stocking shelves for 8 hours every day while listening to the same repetitive elevator musac starts to slowly drive you insane.
>>
>>25405280
Are you the anon who worked the night shift?
>>
>>25405123
nah it's pretty slow. our busiest times are generally 12-2 pm and 5-7 pm. it is pretty chill at night, but if you're closing it's a shit ton of cleaning and it's not fun at all.
>>
>>25405167
Really? I always liked stocking. Was fun. Nice and quiet, no stupid faggot customers to bother me, got to listen to music, felt like I was doing something for the store, didn't have to think much.

I fucking loved it.

The only thing I love more is stacking boxes in the back.
>>
>>25405280
It depends where you work. I worked while the store was closed. So it was just me in the isle by myself with my headphones on. I didnt even have to wear a uniform. I just had to show up in one.

u wot m8? It's literally just shoving plastic/carboard into it.

People are just lazy and leave all their shit around.

>work on the back door/warehouse in a supermarket
>half my job is just cleaning up after all the lazy normies in the warehouse

If i don't empty the baler, no one else will and just lets shit pile up for hours. Half the time they don't even crush it down so it just overflows everywhere.
>>
>>25405280
It's honestly not that bad. It's one of the best, if not the best job in the supermarket. Whenever i stack shelves time goes by so fast.

It's worse during the day though. At night you can just put headphones in with no customers and it's all good.

what do I have to do in order to get a job stocking shelves at night
>>
>>25405322
>>25405352

That sounds amazing, I always worked during the day since it was a small store and I wasn't allowed to listen to music and had to interact with customers, mainly directing them to a certain isle and the occasional old person that was really eager to talk to someone.

I'd kill for a job where I'd work nights, alone and just do my own thing.

Worst job for you self-steem, shitty pay, asshole customers, horrible work shifts, I still can't believe I did it for two years straight.

>mfw being assigned to stock shelves at the booze aisle on a friday/saturday night

Chads and Stacies will flock and start bugging you about the cheapest vodka for their parties. Smug condescending looks all night long. And don't forget the classless hicks who ask you if the wine they're picking is a good. I STOCK SHELVES, I'M NOT A FUCKING SOMMELIER.

Thank God I'm not going back, even seeing the supermarket from far away triger the memories. My advice to anyone who's still shelvestocking or thinking about doing it, choose someting else.
>>
>>25405411
Be persistent if you get rejected follow it up with a letter directly to H.R saying thank you blablah and hoping you are considered for the future cus you'd really like the opportunity etc. I guarantee you'll get an interview oh and if you are willing to work weekends they will pull you in so fast your shoes will remain outside.

it depends. The work is often a lot more physically demanding than in other stores because Aldi is saving a lot of money by only hiring the minimal amount of staff to keep the store running.
The pay is quite good (compared to other retailers) and the benefits are also quite good (I get 50% of my monthly salary twice a year in additional benefits and some monthly bonus if the store runs well).

Though it totally depends on the store manager / regional manager if you will have a good or bad experience working at Aldi.

The only(!) good thing of that job was that in christmas/easter, they would put a shopping cart full of unsellable candy (broken package, near the expirancy date) for the workers. I had a huge supply of snickers and chocolate bunnies.

>3rd time

OP here, the only thing more depressing than stocking shelves would be working at a conveyor belt at a factory, I did that back when I was 17 for a day. Job description was "packaging goods in a comfortable environment" only to arrive at some dark smelly factory where they package fresh meat and 90% of the employees are from Poland. My job was to sticker the packages rolling along the conveyor belt for 9 hours with a 15 minute break every 3 hours... I must've placed 17000 stickers that day.

I'm supposed to put this stuff into the computer and send officer's or security but even if I don't do it...nobody cares. I straight up did nothing with the computer for a week and NOBODY NOTICED!

>i'm wasting time and not serving people quick pints which annoys them because someone thought it was a good idea that a 180 year old pub should serve cocktails for a fiver
2 of these things are more than my hourly pay, fuck this, I signed up for a pub, not some fake attempt of a club

My personal favourite is when they ask for some fucking obscure thing, but won't allude to what it actually is.
>Excuse me, do you have any saq du famalagan
>I'm sorry I'm not sure what that is. Is that a refrigerated food?
>Well, it comes in this little packet
>Would it be refrigerated?
>I'm not sure

Just give some bullshit to them about how it's at the other side of the store.

Then zip off to the bathroom and take a 10 minute phone game break.

I beat KOTOR last week doing this. I love fucking with people and giving them bad advice. They probably think I'm an idiot, but who cares? I wasted their time.
>>

I gave up on that shit. If I don't know what the item is or can't understand them (niggers & foreigners) I simply tell them we don't have it in stock right now or to go to the member service desk.

I live in a very rich town (I'm not rich, but there are manors on the outskirts) and we just get white, middle aged, entitled women. If I say we don't have anything, they'll just ask a manager and tell them I was unhelpful, even if we actually don't have any.
Swear I didn't even hate people that much before I started this job.
Tbh, the general public is generally fucking stupid.
>>
>>25406401
if you aren't black then wal-mart won't hire you. other than me everybody in my department is black or mixed black. as soon as I get out I guarantee they'll hire a black guy.

Did my robot service with 4 months overnight stocking. I saved lots of money and quit 2 weeks ago because my manager was a cunt and working 7 days a week overnight is fucking grueling for your sanity.

this

desu ive stocked selves overnight for almost 7 years, and it's not good at all. I thought exactly what everyone here is thinking, but it actually just deepens your robotic nature, because it nurtures it.

stocking for walmart/sams club was better than stocking at Albertsons, both people wise, and money wise.

i'm finally in the most easiest, comfiest position I've ever been in, and its not overnight shift. Daytime customer service positions are the best because you perform really, ZERO labor, and you learn how to talk to people better, AND make connections. even girls that were playing me started coming around to visit me at work(to show you what others think of overnight stocking jobs)

dont be an overnight stocker guys. it is shit tier, and the people you meet, and have to deal with are shit too. its only good for stealing

Have you ever been inside a retail store, especially a large bulk store? The signs are fucking huge and on every damn aisle. Not to mention it's designed so that like shit is together in parts of the damn store.

Sort of there. I work in produce so I work with putting out fresh goods daily. It has its ups and downs, but mostly downs as of late. Hopefully things might start improving.

I work a lot in the back away from customers most times, and at times I'm away between 30 mins to an hour so I just blast music from my phone and no one really cares.

Will try. I have a lot of fun working this early sometimes where there is literally no one else and I can just blast music away and do my own shit. Don't ever have to worry about customers or any other shit.

thief stories?
>cashier catches an old guy who tried to steal a bottle of alcohol
>he was driving pic related
>I offer him a deal in which he just has to pay for the bottle and just not return to my store
>he refuses
>I take a chair and sit down in front of him so he can't drive away and call the police
>police says that they will need at least 1 hour until they arrive
>he's complaining all the time that it's getting dark outside and he's scared that his wheelchair will run out of power if it takes any longer
>I just say"you've made your own bed and now deal with it"
>tears begin to roll down his cheeks when his wheelchair finally runs out of juice

>16 years old

>had (and still have) awful anxiety
>always avoided any table with attractive females
>decide to "face my fears" to cure my anxiety
>it's all planned out in my head, ill just grab it and then get back to my job. Easy.
>anxiety at an all time high as I approach this chick, mouth extremely dry, lips immediately get dry as fuck from how anxious I am
>head pounding
>"c-can I get your p-plate for you?" As I grab it
>comes out weird as fuck due to how dry my mouth was
>she says "oh no thanks. I'm still using it"
>this was unexpected
>eyes start watering due to being so stressed from such a small social interaction
>she goes "awww it's okay"
>this makes me feel even more pathetic
>immediately turn around and walk away. Go into employee bathroom and contemplate suicide

I don't think he means sleep deprivation is a high itself, I think he means when you all night two or three nights and are so tired you just blissfully fall asleep/pass out and have a 12+ hour sleep. That feels good desu familia

Nah I know exactly what he is talking about. After about 20-30 hours of not sleeping you'll get like really tweaked and have to laugh at everything.

If your MDMA trip is worse than that you got really shitty MDMA.

It is if you are a negro who speaks ebonics.

Other than that it's basically another way for Shekelstein to sell you shit.

I work as a grocery clerk for a small grocery store, shits awesome.

> part time day crew

> all day errday in charge of dairy

However I'm NEET again and not by choice so you can say I fucked it all up.

It's even more unregulated than 4Chan, lol. I have a business where I have to monitor social media for "bad" traffic for my clients. I think it's changed since then, but it took me weeks one time to get a Twitter account removed that was literally threatening to maim my client, physical violence, giving out her address. Pretty sure that post would have been removed in 2 minutes on 4Chan.
>>
>>25407554
>but it took me weeks one time to get a Twitter account removed
That's just because their support team is understaffed.

Here we have a lot of mods who do it for free
