>>

The nearby city has paper bag fees and plastic bag bans. These things are almost the norm.
>>
>>25372895
If you ever want to really ruin a wageslave's day, go to a grocery store that has paper bags and ask the bagger or cashier to double bag the paper bags. It's fucking ridiculous and useless unless the customer has a lot of items he or she wants bunched in one bag. But other than that it pisses me the fuck off and makes me hate you. The management and corporate also hate this because paper bags are much more expensive.

>>25372940
I work front end at a grocery store so these are just things that trigger me. Reusable bags are a fucking hassle and just downright stressful. I like to organize shit and it's hard to do with paper and reusable bags. People just throw shit on the lane with stuff unseparated and it's tedious to organize everything with these bags because everything starts to pile up and it takes ages to put all the cold stuff (etc.) in one bag.

People who carelessly throw their carts into the cart corrals and just walk off, ignorant that if their cart isn't pushed all the way to the end or into the next cart its size, it causes a huge mess that some poor soul, most likely a 16 year old or 60 year old man will have to dig out and move the carts around because some busy body fat blonde bitch in her Porsche Cayenne couldn't care less about where she placed her cart.

Like pic related, but with many more carts.

But fuck like 98% of the time I use self check out anyway

>the other 2% is marsh and they don't have them
>>
>>25373047
NO fuck this shit

As mentioned in a post you quoted, some cities, like Los Angeles for example, ban plastic grocery bags and require the store to charge you 10 cents per bag. So this results in:

A) People bringing their soiled, smelly, frumpy old reusable bags for you to bag

B) people who walk or take the bus home from the store, and didn't make a special trip there with their reusable bags having to ask for double paper bags because a single bag can easily rip if you have heavy or sharp items in it.

To be frank, plastic bag bans are just one of those feel-good environmental legislations which does very little for the planet, but does a lot to inconvenience poor people.

Also, for small shopping trips or just getting lunch/snack outside, I make a point to take a plastic produce bag and present it to the cashier for a bag refund and use it to bag my stuff.

We have these in the US too. Pretty much the only reason they haven't totally taken over is thanks to the unions, and because it's not legal to buy alcohol from a machine.

When I was a kid, every aisle had a cashier and bagger. Now, there's like 3 cashiers, one bagger who has to run back and forth between all of them, and a whole block of self-checkout machines.

i work for a multibillion dollar international corporation. i hear these fairly often:

>Action Item - hey do this
>Blue Sky Thinking - what the delusional controller does 9/10 when "cloud computing" was new
>Business Landscape - what your business unit looks like in terms of your market or sector (usually sector)
>Core competencies - things you do very well, or things you should do very well if you don't want to be dead weight.
>Elevator pitch - 30 sec summary for an idea in casual conversation
>Empower the business - this bullshit i hear from sales, often related to selling a service as a product.
>Hit the ground running - not waste time with planning (this often fails because of outdated procedure, policy, or both).
>Paradigm shift - change in your business theory of operation. retards stuck in the 90's use it as marketing copy.
>Raft of measures - this isn't jargon. "raft" just means a large array or list. measures are usually tasks or directives.
>Rightshoring - this is used vs offshoring where cost is less of a concern to branding and efficiency.
>Visibility - literally what can one process or role see from their current position or policy.
>Low hanging fruit - something easy to do but assholes don't do it anyway because they are lazy slobs.
>Don't let the grass grow too long on this one - not a priority until it's a priority. if you do not magically divine when this changeover occurs, it is your fault.
>The strategic staircase - business strategy planning that never works because it relies too heavily on forecasting.
>Square the circle - solving an issue that has a workaround because the issue was thought impossible to solve when it turns out that the person assigned to it only made excuses or lacked insight.
>Leverage - blackmail, or optionally an advantage over something.
>Throw the Dead Cat Over the Wall - hide everything
>Reach Out - send a fucking email or call someone.
>It Is What It Is - giving up go fuck yourself.
>>
>>25376761
people want cheaper products because their purchasing power is very low. some businesses cannot make any significant profit because of the costs of doing business (fixed costs, administrative costs, various compliance costs, et c. labor in the US is very expensive). so stores hire and benefit fewer people, and look to shave benefits and hours wherever possible and still be in business.

this in turn makes a shittier paying job because the few dollars that you get as wage in the highly competitive service/retail industry is taxed by the feds, then usually the state, then a bunch is gone to benefits (if you get them at all), then the money you have left goes to your own fixed costs (rent, food, et c) and the individual's buying power is tiny, so they spend less at the market.

very bad cycle.

1.5 hours commuting each way for ~$13k per year. You're literally working in order to go on working. This is the definition of being a wagecuck. I can understand putting up with the commute if you're actually getting some money, but not for this.

I know you don't have any energy and looking for a job is the worst, but what you're doing doesn't sound sustainable, its easier to find a job while you're already employed.

>>
>>25377964
Yeah, if moving is an option, that makes it work.

In my case, the owner of my business spent three years shopping for a new building in an area much closer to where I live, and it always seemed like it was going to happen any day, so it didn't make sense to move and sign an apartment lease.

I finally gave up on waiting in May and quit, and a month or two later he finally DID buy a building, so close to my house that I wouldn't even get on the freeway to get there - only, it's now almost six months later, and he still hasn't moved the business over there.
