I used to use humor as the only way I could interact with other humans.
I realized that I did that because of my low self-esteem. I thought I wasn't interesting enough if I wasn't being funny. So I stopped relying on just jokes when interacting with people and try to actually connect with them.
I feel like people did like hanging out with me more when I was putting all my effort into joking though, but not relying on joking is more rewarding.
