Not true, the only problem with that is running into an existential issue. But most people do, that's the so called mid life crisis. Being smart just means you run into it earlier. It's much better to question things when you're young than to do so when half your life is already spent. Once you have an acceptable answer to the existential problem, being smart isn't a burden.

This is true for me, I have fucking zero self esteem and confidence but am considered intelligent (if being autistically smart about history, doing calculus on the daily, and having a programming degree is "intelligent"). Most people like that are also very depressed if they like science and history.
