Of course. There are weebs out there who play vidya and anime, and might want a guy with the same interests. Problem is many of those guys are horribly boring or ugly.

>>
>>25370620
It doesn't mean anything. It's a fiiller interest. If they have to resort to using travel as an interest, they are vapid and shallow, no exception.
>>
>>25370620

Interests: MUDDING
>>
>>25370869
That is complete bullshit though. How is seeing the world vapid and shallow? It has a hell of a lot more substance than vidya or something.
>>
>>25370620
Nothing wrong with it, it's just that typically people who are only interested in that and other basic interests are really plain and uninteresting people.
>>
>>25370620
Because it means they like travelling around sampling various foreign Chad cocks.

>>25370935
Because everyone wants to see the world. It's like saying "consuming food" is a hobby. Not cooking, not dining out, but the actual act of consuming food. That's what you look like to us when you put Travel as an interest.
>>
>>25370620
because i dont like when other people enjoy life more than i do
>>
>>25370935
Not him, but it's probably because if they actually do travel, what they could possibly say about will probably be along the lines of, "I saw this and I saw that..." But all this accomplishes is proving that the places are cool, not the person seeing them. It gives no insight as to who they are as a person, and that they are telling you these things because they can't tell you any interesting things about themselves.
>>
>>25371051
>Because everyone wants to see the world
No they don't. I have absolutely zero interest what so ever. That being said, it's more the type of people who say their interest is in travel rather than the act itself.
>>
>>25371081
I agree, of course there's nothing wrong with travel. It's the person.
>>
>>25371066
What do you mean say about it? People have hobbies for themselves, not to impress others.
>>
>>25371349
Why put it on a dating site then?
>>
>>25371371
To let others know what they're into so others can seek common interests.
>>
>>25371371
To give an accurate picture of themselves? There are plenty of people who enjoy listening to other people's travel stories.
>>

PERFECT GRIL! WERE FIND???
>>
>>25371349
When they talk about traveling to people who ask about it, say on the social websites that make people list interests like these. They go into great detail about what the place was like and what amenities it had and so forth, but spend very little time talking about themselves beyond statements such as, "I liked it" and, "It was cool," and as a result, they don't reveal anything deeper about themselves. There's nothing wrong with traveling, but I think it should be used as an icebreaker topic, not in a more personal conversation.
>>
>>25369010
what if she actually does travel? I mean, I do door to door sales and there are plenty of women I've worked with who have been all over the country.
>>
>>25371477
I don't really think it's an icebreaker. It just gives the other person the idea that he or she might be an inquisitive or active person.
>>
>>25371531
That's the thing though. You said, "the idea." What you said is a presumption that links the act of traveling to personality traits, but it is just that, a presumption that the listener has to assume and work with in the course of the conversation. The speaker still has not explicitly talked about their mindset, and the listener is forced to paint a picture of them based on the aforementioned presumption. That's not how an intimate conversation about each other's mints should work.
>>
>>25371645
*minds
>>
>>25371645
I don't see the problem .They discuss their hobbies and then move on to heavier things if it seems like they sync on some level. You don't have intimate conversations with complete strangers.

>I'm really shy at first but I'm outgoing once you get to know me
>I love coffee, netflix, and traveling
>books: harry potter, hunger games

why are women so fucking vapid?
>>
>>25371678
But yeah, that's what I was trying to say earlier. The place that the act of talking about traveling has in the course of the development of two peoples' relationship is in the icebreaker stage, and shouldn't be used in deeper conversation. I just feel that the way people typically talk about their traveling experiences doesn't usually yield anything about them as people, so if that's all they could come up with as valuable about themselves, then they are just trying to cover up their lack of ability for further introspection.

traveling is a euphanism for "getting around"

"she gets around, if you know what i mean. She likes to travel"
>>
>>25371930
Not any of the anons you're replying to but no it's not.
I'm a robot through and through but I like to travel because I enjoy nature, animals, cool buildings, and different kinds of food more than people.
>>
>>25371984
everything women do in life revolves around cock. If she's travelling, it means she's traveling for cock
>>
>>25371854
I'm sure people put down other hobbies and interests besides that. But I hardly think it matters on a dating site. The way you look does and then how the conversation flows in general. People will get to know each other as they go further.

Also, it's easier to state something common than something super obscure. When people are trying to get to know someone they don't want to hear about something super obscure.
>>
>>25372002
I travel and I have never once hooked up. Stop thinking the worst of people.
>>
>>25372002
I'm a woman so no and I travel by myself.
I usually go to rural places with lots of nature and little people.

I'm always curious, robots are always the first to judge women as having "boring" interests

What are the interests that robots have that make them so interesting?
>>
>>25372103
Yes, I totally fuck wild horses. I am the horse whisper after all.
>>
>>25372020
This may be my idealism speaking but if I was on a dating website, I'd be looking to see if our personalities collude right from the get go. No, I don't want to hear about how big and cool those elephants and cities were in India for more than 5 minutes, I want to know about YOU. Also, I don't give a shit whether the interest is obscure or not as long as they're invested in it, as I try to see their rationale behind it. But I guess most people aren't like that. Maybe that's another thing separating us from the normies, but I have no idea.>>25372020
>>
>>25372156
Yeah I get what you're saying but the things is that most normies don't care and it's mostly about physical attraction and fitting a mold.
I just happen to love travel and hearing about people's experiences so I'm bias. Wouldn't write someone off for it.

>>
>>25372291
>don't even know what mudding is but i see it so much

I looked into it and it's apparently driving a car into mud.
>>
>>25372277
Yeah, I'm not faulting you for that. It's just that the storytelling style people usually use to talk about it typically doesn't reveal anything deeper about themselves, and usually it's up to you to get that info out of them yourself. I just think that if you go the route of telling an extended story about your travels, you need to give insight into your own mindset, goals, motivations, and quirks. It's basically like you're your own author. The usual style used when talking about stuff like traveling just bothers me, because analyzing storytelling styles is my own autismo hobby.
>>
>>25372438
I don't think people on dating sites really care about something deeper.
>>
>interests: travel, EDM festivals
>>
>>25372507
I guess, and that sucks. I do care about such a thing, and I guess that's a result of my idealism.
>>
>>25372558
Yeah I know that feel. Shit sucks.
>>
so should i jerk off to some nasty shit on the web now, on the 30th?
