No surprise there

I think everyone on this board has autism.

i just took this test in a psychologist's office today

it's the exact same test on the website.

Psychiatrist. Psychiatrists diagnose disorders and prescribe medications.

That being said you only need to seek diagnosis if your day-to-day social or work life is impaired.
>>
>>25347397
f-fuck

Should I be worried?
>>
Keep in mind that if you get diagnosed, it goes in your permanent record.

Say goodbye to any jobs in the military, government, etc.

Wait a minute... if the only way to diagnose autism is through quizzes and shit, couldn't you just fake it and get diagnosed?

I will never work for the military anyway. I would have to cut my glorious neet hair.

Uh, does being a 29-year-old virgin with minimum-wage job qualify as impairment?

psychologists are the ones that'll do the diagnostic testing though, they'll adminster the MMPI and MCMI to diagnose personality disorders, as well as usually doing the Rorschach and some thematic identification card stuff.

>>25347521
I went to see this dude because I wanted testing done to find out what's wrong with my brain, and like 15 minutes after meeting him he asked me "Have you ever been tested for autism?" and I burst out laughing, hadn't even brought up my concerns yet. you're probably on the spectrum.

>>25347582
The test is only one component of it, it's going to be taken into account with other tests you have to take, they'll also want to interview your parents so they get a sense of how you were as a child, as that factors heavily into the diagnosis.
>>
>>25347618
T-Thanks.

I can blame it all on autism, right?

Okay, cut out all those possibilities if you want. I'm sure you'll make it in the saturate software engineering market.

if you're a virgin and browse 4chan, you probably have autism

if you're over 20 and still a virgin, you're probably autistic
>>
>>25347701
high functioning autism

>>25347730
kek

by all means, go for it. it's a bit harder to fool the longer tests like the MMPI and the MCMI as there are methods in place to detect when someone's trying to force a diagnosis.
>>
>>25347675
Well I'm also a balding manlet, so there's that. The autism just adds another layer of difficulty.

How did you manage to bang those chicks with your autism anyhow?

M8, any psychologist/psychiatrist worth their salt wouldn't even touch the test. Its so outdated. I've been to 5 of them and they've never adminstered the test.

That's literally all I want and I'm sure you can get those not from the military.

Or autismbux

How does a psychologists work? Do I have to talk to them about my feelings and stuff? How long have you been going to yours?

Could you explain how this process works please?
>>
>>25347760

>as there are methods in place to detect when someone's trying to force a diagnosis.

such as?
>>
>>25347594
>Uh, does being a 29-year-old virgin with minimum-wage job qualify as impairment?

Not strictly, I don't think so. It's more about if you think something's wrong. It's just not worth going through the hassle if you don't.
>>
>>25347775
i was surprised when he pulled that out too, but i actually took it in the year 2015. i think he wanted a sense of how literally i'd perceive the images.

>>25347801
well usually for diagnostic testing you get sent to a psychologist who specializes in administering the testing. i sought him out and set up the appointment for testing specifically. they do a brief interview to see if they can medically justify the testing to bill insurance, and then they bring you back in for the testing where you'll take a few different tests that i've already mentioned in this thread. sometimes they do IQ testing as well, but i'm not doing one. now that i've finished the testing, my family is going to be interviewed about my childhood, and after that I assume he's going to diagnose me with shit.

Of course something's wrong. I can't have relationships and I can't even get a decent job because of my social skills. What kind of life is this?

psychologists absolutely can diagnose disorders, but not prescribe medication.

A boss I had in the past who I was sort of friendly with asked me once if I had autism. So did a guy on /int/

I have no diagnosis but the more I find out about it, it seems like I probably am somewhere on that scale, and I think my dad and grandpa might be too

wouldn't mind getting neetbux for it to be honest, but I read that girls tend to get diagnosed with other stuff instead of autism (ADD, bipolar, anxiety, etc.) because it's stereotypically something more associated with boys. I read something about "signs of autism in girls" and it fit me pretty well. But I also feel that I have good skills in putting on a normal-seeming presentation to other people.
>>
So what if you get a high score in this? There's no cure right? Whats the point in getting tested?
>>
>>25348146
most of the time, people who have HFA that go undiagnosed into their adult lives end up fostering enough coping mechanisms to pass as a normie to some extent, which kind of undermines diagnosis later in life.

Makes sense. I can adjust myself to fit in anywhere but pretty much always feel like I am barely keeping it together. Before knew anything about autism I had reached a really unhappy point, where I was secretly having weird breakdowns at work. Now that I understand more about this stuff I feel like I am in better control.
>>
>>25348279
at least it's not even the highest one in the thread m8

wonder what the max score even is?
>>
>>25348343
the test maxes out at 50 I believe

>>25348342
i've had a similar experience, in the past i've been able to get jobs and sustain them for a bit, but i always had these unexplainable meltdowns a few months down the line that would lead me to resign to the surprise of most. i guess i could only maintain a normal facade for so long, i'm kind of irritated it took this long for a doctor to pick up on it though, it could've saved me a lot of questioning and pain as a kid.
>>
>>25348459
>in the past i've been able to get jobs and sustain them for a bit, but i always had these unexplainable meltdowns a few months down the line that would lead me to resign to the surprise of most

I feel you. The longest I have ever held a job is one year and 2 months. I am 26 and have been working since I was 16. I also dropped out of college due to this same kind of thing.
>>
>>25348494
it's all the more upsetting because they were careers making good money I could've settled down and built a life on, but now i've sort of fucked my resume by leaving so many different places and it's hard to find work. really screwed myself over in that regard. i haven't had much success with college either.
>>
>>25347594
It depends on what has caused you to be in that situation. Is it lack of normal cognative function?
