I joined the marine corps. It didn't cure all of my robot tendencies, however it does force me to socialize and talk to people because I now have roommates instead of living alone. Once you can do at least 3 miles, I'd add a little more mileage at a time one day, and add interval runs where you sprint 30secs,jog60 repeat another day. Third day you time yourself on whatever distance you have to and try to run at a faster pace for smaller intervals at a time like run at a 8 minute pace for. 25 miles instead of say 10min/mile
