Anybody else feel like dying but don't want to actually commit suicide? I was thinking about maybe enlisting into the Marines or something and die in combat. At least I wont die a complete failure.
>>
>>25345416
They don't accept people with suicidal tendencies or any mental illnesses (they don't want to lose months and thousands of dollars of investment just for you to throw yourself face-first onto the first IED you see).

That being said, if you just answer no to the explicit question of "Do you currently experience suicidal thoughts?" then you'll do fine.
>>
>>25345416
I often think the same thing.
>>
>>25345416
Ofcourse, hence why Im in the Army. I dont know why more robots dont join up. Just run and do some pushups, maybe learn to orienteer a little.
>>
i would if i get drafted. i lust for battle.
>>
>>25345481

Jesus Christ, is it that easy? Just lie?
>>
>>25345719
What are they going to do? Waste both of your time by giving you an in depth psyche eval? Who would that help? Psychiatrists can't find out anything unless you open up, so it'd be pointless. Besides, they know a decent size group are people who don't give a shit about life or death, so if they can get some use out of them then it's fine.

The only issue is if someone is severely suicidal (on the brink almost always) and has a realistic chance of killing themselves while still in. Half of the meetings are just constant reminders to not kill yourself. Another quarter are reminders to not rape women and the last quarter are reminders to not drink and drive.
>>
>>25345719

Yes and not only for enlisting. Just lie and you can get through life pretty easily.
>>
>>25345719
Yeah. Just like getting any other job.

Lying helps get the organization off the hook if you fuck up and the lie is exposed

Possibly. I know they get a copy of your medical record from your healthcare provider but I've read somewhere that psychiatrist's notes are a separate thing. Not sure if they get both when they ask though.

I would rather set my self on fire than die for these fucking normal fags. If anything you should plan on shooting up a night club or something. At least that would be worth dying for.
>>
>>25345954

>I know they get a copy of your medical record from your healthcare provider

Only if you say you have one, and they cannot pull medical records without you physically being there to sign them over.

The only way they would know unless you told them is if you were court ordered to see a psychiatrist or something because you did something that got the police involved. They can pull legal records only.

I gave up ZERO medical records when I joined the Army.
>>
>>25348472
so you can literally just go "medical records? What medical records?"
>>
>>25348542

When was the last time you actually saw a doctor? I didn't even know what my doctor's name was at the time as it had been like 10 years since my last visit. I wasn't about to hunt down records and neither were they.
>>
>>25348587
So you're generally healthy?
>>
>>25348611

Yeah, but I mean I've broken tons of bones over my life from doing stupid stuff, sometimes stuff like that can disqualify you, especially if surgery was required.

I just decided not to tell them about any of that. Not that they actually care, any recruiter worth anything will tell you to just lie through your fucking teeth at MEPS anyway.
>>
>>25345719
Yes lie about everything. Drug use, suicide intentions, addictions....if you lie they won't find out unless you tell them. No bullshit.
>>
>>25345788
bahahaha so true. I'm in the marines not the army and we get constantly reminded that all men are rapists and we are raging alcoholics who drive drunk and cause drinking problems.
>>

I feel like I wouldn't be able to get through basic training, that's the only thing keeping me from enlisting.
>>
>>25345416
I joined the marine corps. It didn't cure all of my robot tendencies, however it does force me to socialize and talk to people because I now have roommates instead of living alone. Also if your into anime and shit a ton of marines are. It's basically a cross section of society, however I would say we have even more neets because you got to think of all the nerdy people that wanted to do the military because gi joe and the fact that all the really alpha chad bros are in business school in college or are playing college sports.

Get used to being around minorities...I hope your not too /pol/ite lol
>>
>>25345416
That's similar to my thought process. I would like to be able to just end up but I'm a coward.
I won't be enlisting in the military though. I refuse to help and or die for normalfags.
>>
>>25345719
I mentioned to my recruiter when I was in high school that I had sports related concussions in the past few years. What he said was if I told him in school, he didn't hear it and he'd forget about it. But if I told him in that office then he'd have to reject me.
>>
>marines
Why is it always marines who are the turbo-shitter failed normies? You never hear about people joining any other branch for dumb whiny fedora reasons.

It's too hard to get into the cf and too low risk of being killed.

You need to have residency in the USA before joining I think, but foreign citizens can join any branch and become US citizens.

I think you will be ineligible for security clearances though.

Just start with short distances, distance for the actual PT test depends on branch. In the Army it's 2 miles, the Air Force and Navy is 1.5 miles, the Marine Corps is 3 miles.

OP I literally joined the marines to do that.

>>
>>25350043
Why you drop out?
>>
>>25349715
C25k since yeah they test you for only 1.5miles or so depending on your branch but you'll be running more than that.
Once you can do at least 3 miles, I'd add a little more mileage at a time one day, and add interval runs where you sprint 30secs,jog60 repeat another day. Third day you time yourself on whatever distance you have to and try to run at a faster pace for smaller intervals at a time like run at a 8 minute pace for. 25 miles instead of say 10min/mile
get real running shoes you don't want to fuck yourself before even going, go to an actual running store and have them rec you the best ones for you, they should even have a treadmill where you can test them
>>
>>25350063

>>
>>25351569
I think there's no work to do because there's no work to be done. I mean, come on, it's cyber warfare. Apart from the occasional exercise what could you possibly do?

That's like one of those MOSs that if it's ever genuinely seeing action then shit's getting fucked and it doesn't matter anyways. (i.e. China attacks military satellites to disable communication. If they're doing that then there's already going to be bullets and missiles flying, one way or another.)
>>
I always wonder when I see these types of threads, is there a fucking quiz or something I can take to see which branch is right for me or something? I don't know shit about the military, but aside from someone suggesting a certain branch, I don't know pros/cons of any specific one, or what I would even go for.
>>
>>25351776
Technically there are quizzes, but honestly you just have to look at the different branches, critically evaluate your own skills, then see where what you like and what you're good at intersect. Just like the normal job market.

That doesn't mean you have to be specifically good at factoring Ohms and amperes and shit to be an electrician, just figure out if you're a hands on guy or a thinker, and let your interest guide the rest.
>>
>>25351684

Para-rescue is one of the hardest pipelines in the entire armed services, just a warning it has an 80% attrition rate. It's like 70 weeks long, goes through indoc (actual selection), airborne, combat dive school (they drown you on purpose and bring you back plus other awful shit), military free fall (HALO/HAHO), underwater egress (escaping from a sinking plane or helicopter), SERE (survival and evasion techniques), emt-paramedic training (graduate with NREMT-P certificate), and finally the recovery specialist course.

Hilariously the description under this picture from Wikipedia for Pararescue reads:

>Airmen wear water-filled masks while performing over one thousand flutter kicks after 20 hours of non-stop physical training during an extended training day at the Pararescue Indoctrination Training Center.

Security Forces guard gates and shit on base, it's a boring job but it has to be done.

One of the guys I went to OSUT with was a guy who went through the PJ pipeline and broke his leg during military freefall and was thrown out of the pipeline. He was changing services to the Army to become a Special Forces Medical Sergeant.
>>
>>25351776

What do you like to do? I might be able to point you in a direction. I obviously don't know the in and outs of every job in the military, but there is a position to do almost anything.

Militarycucks...truly a special breed of cuck

Enjoy slaving away your PRIME years of youth in a LITERAL death cult for Halliburton/Raytheon/Blackwater shekels

And militarycucks STILL unironically believe that they're "protecting the country", "fighting for our freedoms", "bravely serving the country with honor and distinction" or doing anything other than maximizing the profits of the C.I.A., weapons contractors and capitalist war profiteers (AKA the military-industrial complex; the unaccountable/anti-democratic/totalitarian National Security State that runs the show). And enforcing the U.S. National Security State's domination worldwide through acts of the most extreme sadism (indiscriminately murdering innocent men, women and children alike through "smart" bombs and drone missile assassinations, blatant wars of aggression, Black Operations, economic plunder, puppet dictatorships, starvation, torture and genocide throughout the world for the past century)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VMaW9GfQKM

All this just to be chewed out and disposed of when they are no longer a useful piece in their global chess game.

Ahh militarycucks, when will they ever learn?

Remember familiars: Conscientious Objector Status

It's ALWAYS an option :^)

You get yourself killed other people are going to put themselves at risk over it, if you wanted the risk and accept it is a possibility maybe but your kind of a defeatist no killer instinct.
Besides it is peace time, who you think you'd be in combat with? If you follow media most people don't want boots on the ground and we're mostly pulled out of that conflict, honestly people don't even know what they want with the war no boots on the ground except bare minimum primarily special forces, they want this stuff that depends on intelligence but they don't want intelligence collection done "cause muh liberties".

They say it's for resources but don't say where those resources go just "the black market" like thousands of pounds of resources pulled from one specific location enter a void and teleported magically transporting the resources to "the black market" where it magically disappears to some buyers. Makes sense? Nope. No fight there.
