I shave daily. Beards look disgusting IMO, I can't stand having facial hair. Aside from looking disgusting, it looks super unprofessional in my line of work (I'm a lawyer) so I pretty much have to shave anyway.

I shave when having facial hair becomes more uncomfortable than shaving. I have very sensitive skin ever since I took a course of accutane 2 years ago, so I usually don't do it very often. Lucky for me it grows really slowly so I don't have a disgusting neckbeard.
i just use a beard trimmer to keep my beard to low levels, because i hate shaving.
i use to shave every 2 or 3 days years ago, now i am a lazy slob i just shave every 2-3 weeks, using an electric razor, and then use a trmmer if i have to go out of my apartment. haven't been outside since the 23rd so have quite a beard going.

I have shit density despite being 20 so I don't really have visible stubble. That said, I can never seem to get a close shave. No matter if I use an electric razor or a disposable one, my cheeks and jawline are always prickly as fuck. Is your face supposed to feel that way? I'm guessing I can never get it to be as smooth as, say, the inside of your elbow, but I'd like for it to not feel like fucking sandpaper when I run my hand across it. What am I doing wrong? I've tried shaving with and against the grain with no real difference.

Many think of themselves as experts knowing the one way to shave correctly.
In reality it's just trial and error to find out what works best for you. Even for things that are widely accepted to only work one way, just do it differently and see for yourself.
Like, try using cold water or don't use shaving soap/creme/foam but normal body wash instead or other ridiculous ideas that come to your mind.

I trim my beard every two weeks or so. mostly just lazy. never let it get longer than 5mm or so though. use a buzzer to do it.
