Because he's been a good friend to me for many of my years, we often talk about deep, philosophical stuff, we have very similar hobbies, and he's able to pinpoint his own flaws, allowing himself to improve. Sometimes you just have to cast the die and hope it works out (something that all robots should take to heart). If he reacts negatively just tell him you really love him, you tried to say it politely a thousand times and he just wouldn't believe it so you tried to force the hand of fate a bit. Offer yourself to him again, speak frankly. Say I am here, open for you romantically. If you don't want my love that is okay, we can still be friends. But don't think for one moment you are unlovable.
If he's still repulsed, chances are he's just not attracted to you and you shouldn't waste romantic efforts on him. People say men are attracted to anything with a hole but that's not true. I know several classic beauties who I'm simply not attracted to on a sexual level. I recognize their world class aesthetic appeal but I doubt they could excite me to arousal.
