Almost every time I have a shit, my asshole burns and it smells like rotten eggs. I don't think I've had a solid shit for weeks, but I think that may be due to my diet of microwaved food and copious amounts of alcohol.

I also know the feel bros. I get the occasional bleed but then it goes away for awhile. Nothing but mucus stuff comes out sometimes. I think it could be solved by a better diet, and honeslty, that huge bowl of cheese dip probably didn't help.

Tons of blood is a bad sign. A little when you wipe is OK but tons in the bowl should be checked out. I think you need to get scoped by a gi doc. I'm concerned for something serious like bowel cancer or diverticulitis. Also this much blood loss can lead to anemia.

What you're describing is called 'bright red blood per rectum' in medical parlance. Google differential or workup to learn more. If they have to resect bowel delaying now will mean you lose more. Blood from very high up in the bowel will turn black by the time you shit it out, this is true, but larger amounts of blood overwhelm this affect and retain their bright red color. Hemoglobin breaks down causing loss of the red color, but enough blood overwhelms the enzymes. Furthermore, bleeds from the entire lower gi tract will come out bright red. You likely have a lower gi bleed, possibly from a polyp which can be malignant or benign. Lower gi is most common spot for gi malignancy. They'll have to look for a cause and cut out a polyp if they find one to check.
You're right that most people who report blood in stool simply have a tear of the anus, but those don't fill the bowl with blood they just show on paper or smear on the feces as it comes out. Also they heal in a day or two and yours has been happening for a while. These features make me more concerned.
