I've seen similar custom rigs, but they're usually a full case with a screen mounted to the side.
I recently saw another one where a guy used a mini- or micro-ITX case and used an iPad modified to act as a monitor as a display.
Maybe a custom setup using a HTPC case with one of those 90* graphics card adapters and a monitor swivel mounted to it would work.

ASUS ultrabook i7's complete the thin-ness and gaming, and depending on your standards might be faily priced, but is definitely on the higher end of laptops.
Of course when you compare specs to price to desktop it's always gonna be shit, but you wanted portable and thin, right?
