I have a distinct memory of high school, standing in a circle with newly transitioning normies.
Each one desperate to be part of the group, nervously staring around laughing at a benign comment and uttering whatever checked the box in acceptable small talk.
I left in disgust, not because I was superior but because faking it would make me feel even more hollow than I already was.
More depressing and hollow than you can possibly imagine

If you've had extended periods of isolation in your life you can never escape it. ever. you will always be a loser internally and know that with a few words your life can be dragged back into the hell you were in before
