It's true, everywhere you go everyone is constantly looking into the infinite abyss that is the illuminated screen.
Its a barrier too. Why talk to potentially new friends when you can just talk to your friends on the phone or on facebook. It's not even talking properly either, just a few words and seven emojis.
So it's doing two things, acting as a barrier against actually interacting with people, and making their interactions less meaningful.
