Nihilism is a bad thing and something we ought to avoid, according to him. Nihilism isn't so much a state of being as it is an ongoing process of deterioration. It is a process embodied in the failings of our moral systems, and the general rules that govern modern society, such as religious dogmas, economics, politics, philosophy, and so forth.
