I've seen countless dank memes grow and fly the 4chan nest into the wider internet. I've watched them get worn out as Reddit circlejerked over them. I've seen the ecosystem of content sites like funnyjunk, 9gag and buzzfeed rise to popularity by basically reposting what they saw on Reddit. Then seeing that content again as it appears on my facebook and twitter feeds.
