I agree, while his quest was kind of mediocre, his motif was far more interesting than oh no the dragons are killing everyone. The whole "NPCs drop everything and go work on temple construction" was pretty neat. And Alduin wasn't even the real Alduin but some edgy draconian faglord, because the real Alduin would mean the actual end of the world, so the protags achievement isn't even THAT impressive. I fucking love TES lore but it's a shame the games only scratch the surface. There's so much fucked up shit in it but in the game you're exposed only to basic fantasy levels of stuff.
One thing that struck me the other week is that when they finally get around to releasing the next TES game, going by their 4 year dev cycle and that they just shipped Fallout, I'll be 28. I'll likely won't ever be able to play it for 4 days straight with only breaks for food and sleep. I'll never dream and fantasize about the TES world, or read funky lore tidbits and try to comprehend the timeline. I probably will never be again as immersed as I was in TES games in the years past. Kinda sucks I guess.

Not him but CE had a pretty bad multiplayer (everything except the pistol and sniper sucked) and half the campaign was backtracking. I spent a lot of time on Halo 2 before I could upgrade to a xbox 360 and get Halo 3, and when I did, it felt very similar to 2 that I'd joke and call it Halo 2.5 because it felt almost like the same game.

Because Reach didn't need good maps. The only good non-DLC map I can think of was Zealot and maybe Boardwalk. But Reach had amazing Forge system on Forge World as well as all the custom game options you could hope for. People loved Reach for the custom games m8.
