I think the internet and the capitalism is to blame. The internet has allowed for us to become extremely isolated. 20 years ago people had to spend time with other people because staying at home alone was terrible. Now we sit at home "socializing" online slowly killing our abilities to function and deal with normal life situations. Without having to learn basic social skills people hide behind "social anxiety" because they spent their formative years staring into a screen doing on things they like never leaving their comfort zone. Capitalism has also made millennials awful because it makes us see each other as competition instead of partners. Capitalism has also drastically driven the price of college and real estate up. With out college being affordable, millennials lack the opportunity to improve themselves or drive themselves into debt, basically slavery. A 30 year mortgage is essentially equivalent to serfdom, you have to keep working to pay it off or suffer penalties or sell it and probably lose money all for the profits of banks. And you never truly own the house, if you do not pay your taxes, your property can be legally stolen from you. We will spend our whole lives chasing corporate profits and die alone and miserable.

I've though about running for governor in my state and reforming education really hard. Starting with getting rid of the union altogether. Even if it meant shutting the school system down for a whole year while we fired every single one of them and hired new teachers. Just an entire system purge. We're really not, by any means, the worst generation. I honestly have hope for us.
Speaking as a first-generation millenial born in '93, I got to see the tail end of the 90's and barely have some semblance of an awareness to know what people were like. I also got to see the second-generation millenials, the ones born in the late 90's and the 2000's, grow up a bit.
I think we're doing just fine and aren't half as bad as the older generations are making us out to be. Moreover, I think judgement is passed on us in the context of myths about previous generations that simply aren't true.
I'll admit that PC culture among us is way out of control and that SJW's are obnoxious. But at the same time, our generation is genuinely nobler and more loving than previous ones were.
Yeah, this generation breaks a lot of rules and doesn't seem to have much respect for tradition or authority. But at the same time, a lot of the traditions and rules we break fucking suck, and it's not as though we aren't as brainwashed by the authorities we do respect as older generations were by theirs.
