The .22 is strong enough to enter your skull via the temple or roof of your mouth. Roof of the mouth is probably better. If you go through the temple it might pass right through and not do enough damage and just make you retarded for the rest of your life.
For max damage you'd want the bullet to enter but not exit and ricochet around and scramble up you're brainy bits. I would use either a larger caliber or a .22 hollow point.
The hollow point expands like a flower on impact, increasing the size and thus the amount of tissue damage that will occur.
