I feel the same way but with romance movies
Perks of being a wall flower relates to me but instead of my friend an heroing it was my mom
I had a few "coming of age" experiences but they were all opposite to what happens in the movies.
For example in movies some kids will get their friends and siblings will steal their parents liquor and either have a big party and get in trouble or get to drunk and throw up or both. Me on the other hand I started stealing my parents liquor when I was 15 or so, but I just drank alone and nobody ever noticed. I used to show up to class drunk and nobody even said anything.

Tyler the class drunk?
I went through a period where I just watched coming of age movies.
I guess I was trying to see what my life was supposed to be like and get some motivation, but the it just ended up making me even more depressed.
I will never have young love.
I will never share life moments and bond with life and friends
I will never have my whole bright future ahead of me.
I will never again have the chance to choose what kind of person I want to become.
