Also, the quickest way to build rapport with most people is to repeat what they say right back to them.
I was even planning on paying. After I got done picking them out (they were gifts) I went to pay and the guy wasn't there. I stood there a minute and then even walked around the island (not a kiosk but a thing of shelves) looking for him. that's when I made the decision I think, I went over to the far end, pretended to look at those, looked around then turned and walked out that end of the mall. one guy who I think was a worker at the next counter definitely saw me do it but he just made eye contact for a second. honestly it made me feel sick and I won't do it again.
