GPA is like the fourth or fifth primary concern if someone wants to get into a gradschool. Like anything above a 3.75 is effectively a 4.0. It's all about papers, networking, standardized test scores, etc.

If having a 3.9 makes you feel happy and proud of yourself go for it but don't tear yourself up too much if you can't maintain.
Ultimately it's a secondary concern at best.
