It gives me the same exhilaration I had as a child with DBZ. When I was a kid everytime ther was a strong bad guy and every "super strong" ally was getting the shit beat out of them easily I was internally yelling for goku or some shit to come and easily kill the enemy with a finger flick. Something about the strongest being walking around normally gives a sense of dayum. OPM gives me back that feeling years later. I usually think while watching episodes "COME ON SAITAMA, GET YOUR FUCKING ASS OVER THERE AND PUNCH HIM ALREADY".

It parodies the fight scenes of shonen anime which lets it treat both parts of the show as comedy where regular shonen anime have to focus on serious fight scenes and try to slip n comedy which sometimes can ruin the feel of a given scene.
I will say this though, One of my favorite moments outside of One Punch where a shonen anime used comedy in a fight scene is in One Piece where Luffy pulls out Meat he stored in his pocket earlier during a fight because he gets hungry.

The artstyle is definitely unique compared to most other shows but I don't get what makes it so good?

The only stuff I can watch now is silly "shounen" stuff that doesn't take itself too seriously but delivers all that flashy, stylized superpower battling and cute girls doing cute things. I've moved over to western drama for actual stories and decent themes. It probably has as much to do with getting older as it does with how many metric fucktons of anime I've watched over the years.

Fanbases are inherently cancerous but some stand out as particularly bad during certain periods of time, and lately, it's OPM. And Some attract certain people who are worse than others. Osomatsu, for example, attracts fujos who like spamming fanart and ranking the matsus. OPM brings in normies who know fucking nothing about anime and have never read manga.
