Actually, it makes sense on some boards. On boards like /g/ or /v/ it really wouldn't matter, but on /r9k/, we often discuss whether someone is a NEET or wagecuck, and a normie or robot.
It's totally normal for females to be NEETs, and normies at the same time.
But if a male is a NEET (for longer than say, a year), he is a robot.
If nobody posts their gender, then robots will come here finding tons of fellow NEETs, without realizing that a lot of those NEETs are actually Stacys and the robots are truly alone on this board.
