Loving our Lord and savior is not anti-intellectualism just because you say it is. Your opinion may differ, but it does not make it correct. Godlessness has not helped modern culture, and examples can be seen daily of that with the loss of family units and declining morals.
We've had an intellectual revolution, but what we need next is a spiritual one to help ground it.

Also, a fun fact, atheist are still a major minority by far. Most Americans still believe in Christianity and an even larger percentage in God to some extent. There is more of an emphasis on secularism for sure, but the point I am trying to make is that "fear of God" is certainly not dissuading anyone from doing shit in the post-feudalist/crusades era.
Also, a part of modern culture, ISIS. Another example of the same religious extremism that brought us the Crusades and the Salem Witch Trials. The concept of God, especially the Abrahamic God, is not all positive in influence.
"God" can be interpreted in so many different ways, and subject to flawed conclusions by dumb human beings. Shouldn't the lack of certainty and rigor in defining the intent of the omnipotent, universal source of life be a concern to you? You will cite the Bible and pay no mind to the constant misinterpretations and varying ways people have and had used its passages throughout history, from "interpret it literally" to "it wasn't meant to be interpreted literally", and so on.

You are right in that the Bible can be interpreted in many ways, but the teachings of God and his presence with us is far from anti-intellectualism. A combination of scripture and science is the best balance.
There are lots of people who claim to be religious but actually don't practice it. The real number of religious people in America is quite small, there are just a bunch of degenerates wearing crosses that say they are but in practice do not. They take the things they like from a religion and ignore the things they don't. Or just like to think that someone is watching out for them.

Science still hasn't answered why we are here and other meta-life questions. Perhaps more importantly, religion also provides core values and a strong guide of what is right or wrong. Can say 'well the crusades!!' but not sure non-religious have much better of a track record - science has caused a hyper lack of values. I'm not saying go back to the dark ages, but this world is becoming increasingly broken in terms of spirituality and values.
