This never happened that I'm aware of.
I'd probably do the same as I do when I find (or start finding) a woman more than friendship interesting: remind myself I'm only average and that woman could probably do much better than me - if she would turn out to have all the traits I'd "look for" in a gf it's especially true she deserves better than average me.
That simple assumption of averageness combined with genuinely wanting the best for those I care about (friends included) made it very easy to get over anyone in the past 6 years.No guarantee it'll keep working if a woman was to go out of her way to try and make it clear she wants me to try regardless (e.g. asking me out) or try and convince me that average me is sufficient, but realistically that's not going to happen anyway. I'd say it's a pretty solid method ignoring the extremely rare outlier.
