My ex had daddy issues, her parents got divorced when her and her sisters were young and they lived with there mom and grew apart from the dad. Her dad were write her and meet up for dinner some weekends. She seemed almost mean sometimes. Like I remember her telling stories of her dad crying because he missed them, and she would like laugh about it and call him a baby. I come from a healthy family so maybe I don't understand , but to me it's kinda fucked up and almost evil in a way to not love your own blood. Especially a father or a mother.

My dad died this year. My sis got a head injury when she drove her car off a cliff drunk driving and turned into a violent psychopath (she was a diagnosed sociopath before the accident, but afterwards she just started committing crimes impulsively). She's been tormenting my mother and in and out of jail over the last year. My mother is schizophrenic and has fetal alcohol syndrome, so she's basically retarded. She is functionally illiterate, for a frame of reference.
We are estranged as she told me "even though I could pay for your health care, I won't", while I suffered from multiple debilitating illnesses. I got back in touch with her on a very limited basis through Facebook several months ago as I couldn't condone what my sister had been doing to her, but that wasn't good enough for her. She told me a few months later that she doesn't want to maintain contact with me and to "have a nice life", though we talked for a few months without issue before she decided this out of the blue.
I got a Christmas card from her. I opened it, checked it for money, and tossed it without reading it. She'd written a lot, but I really don't care to read it. I don't feel like she was ever a good mom to me, and that I spent more time taking care of her in her "episodes" than she ever did taking care of me. I feel I lost my childhood, and lost the last few years of my father's life due to her behaviors. I don't want to lose any more. I will be happy when she is gone. Sorry for the blog, but it's Christmas eve and I'm feeling shitty.
