it does. White knights are young. The older ones must have some sort of mental disorder or fetish that continues to reward them for self-destructive behavior.
A lot of betas never grow out of it because it's how they were raised. If you're taught that women need saving, you'll continually do it forever, because it's all you know.
I want to say it's like religion, but
more people give up on their religion than white knights do on women.
Also, just world fallacy. Betas believe with a fiery passion that life is a Disney movie where all wrongs will be righted, all good deeds will be rewarded, and everything will go as it should.

If you are 5'6 and look boyish, you can get women easy. I know some dude who's 26 looks like he is 15 and he is married to some mammoth 6'4 woman who his him in her lap.
Same thing happened in college, girls would mention what a little cuite one dude was (he was 5'2) and him in their laps.
I only got to lap sit a 350 pound girl once, but she was still shorter than I was.

Why don't short guys just lie about their height? Like this picture on the reality side clearly states there barely a difference. So if your 5'10 or maybe even a bit shorter just say your 6'2 anyway. It's okay to lie. Pudgy women lie about their weight all the time. Normally their lie is about 10~20 pounds less then their actual weight. Going overboard on the lie isn't good though.
