Whether or not somebody's a "nice" person doesn't have anything to do with their artistic ability, creative maturity, or general ability to be ambitious and be themselves.
Look at Tom Waits. His art's not the type of music you'd show to your friends or play while driving in the car. The music videos are weird, but he does a great job of expressing himself. He KNOWS people are going to think it's weird before he puts it out, and he doesn't let it stop him. Tom Waits does what the fuck he wants nigga.
