MERRY CHRISTMAS /r9k/! Let's have a happy thread for Christmas. Can be about literally anything happy. Look back on some good childhood memories, shitpost to your hearts content, anything you want.

Last Christmas my dad got me a Mosin. He even tried to wrap it. He put loose bullets and the bayonet in my stocking. A solid 10/10 christmas.
Right now there is a medium sized, but heavy box near the tree with my name on it. I have no idea what's in it. Shit's exciting.
I have the ultimate Christmas present for my dad lined up for a few years from now provided nothing bad happens to it. It's my truck. He is quite jealous of my 1996 bronco and I am planning on having a bit of work done (interior, engine, etc...) to it. I know he is going to say it's too expensive, but it would be better in his hands than mine.
>>25221221
nice. I would like to have a mosin and a lot of other old bolt guns
>>25221102
I'm using it as a plinking gun. The ammo is cheap, plentiful, easy to come across, and my ears are really fucking sensitive. If I got it in .45, I'd probably get a migraine after a clip or two.
>>25221221

There are more mass shootings in the US than there are days in the year, actually. It's just that most of them are familicides or niggers shooting crowds of niggers so they aren't as publicized.

Was in the relationship for around 10 years, married like 4.

Her decision to get married to a guy she's been with since she was 16 was a bad choice. This is just fixing it.
Anyway, since your sis probably doesn't have a lot of mileage, you'll do her a favor by setting her up.
I'm not even kidding. 10 years in a monogamous relationship, at that age must have murdered her sex life.

>>25223972
I won't deny I'm fucking retarded, anon. Y'all have knocked some sense into me.
Also, how long are the sawed shotguns you have?
P.s. Where could I get an anti tank rifle?
>owning a gun
>not using it to kill self

>>25224677
Mine aren't sawed off, that's illegal if you cut them under 18.5". However, its perfectly legal to purchase a factory made 8.5" shotgun as long as the overall length is 26.5". No, it doesn't make sense.
You can look for them in the States, but they are classified as destructive devices so its paperwork, 200$, and usually months of waiting time. Ammunition is more common in the states, and there are no permits or anything to purchase big ammo as long as it doesn't contain more than (I forget the exact amount) x ounces of explosives.
>>25224694
Because you can have a good time with guns.

Hmmm...
Winchester model 70 post-64 pre-2000somthing but the checkering is really throwing me off.
>>25224894
Go for something in 20mm. The .50BMG is cheap and fun, very common (we're talking relatively here ofc), the problem usually with 14.5x114 is ammo/reloading components, 20mm is pretty pricey as far as rifles but you can usually find ammo and components more easily. Plus it has a shitton of power.
>>25224913
I'm a giant MKIII fag and even I like the Browning 1911-22. I even forget to recommend it when people are looking for .22 pistol model ideas.
>>25224894

There's always new coffee accessories floating around. I got my dad an aeropress (it's like a slightly different take on french press) last year and he likes it.

How much are 20mm on average? Like, the cartridges?
>>25225409
I do.
http://steamcommunity.com/id/thypostman
>>25225447
Depends. Keep in mind, anything including and bigger than 50 BMG will cost a lot. The ammo will cost a lot, the reloading components will cost a lot, the reloading press and dies will cost a lot, the rifle and accessories will cost a lot.
Relatively speaking, in the states, "cheap" 20mm should be available-ish for around 20 bucks per shot. Don't quote me because Canada shit is different.

Please kill yourself with something else than a gun. I'm fine with people choosing their own path in life even if it leads to immediate self-termination, but I would really be thankful if you used something that didn't pad up the statistics for anti-gunners and ruin life for everyone else. Throwing yourself form a very high place is usually a good bet, survival rate is much lower than pretty much every other method. Very high.
Large, long rifles just increase the risk of your head tilting too far back and then you just end up surviving without a face. So in any way, please no.
>>25225659

>>25225769
There's quite a bit of that in Canada too, actually.
>>25225695
Good try though, it's always nice to see people atleast trying to identify something that's not a military rifle.
There's alot of goofs out there who can't hit the broadside of a barn with a 10 power scope but can spot the difference between a Brit and Argetinial FAL from 50 paces but hasn't heard of most of the hunting rifles.
>>25225867
I try to have a somewhat rounded-out knowledge base and experience/basic firearm shooting skills. I'm pretty bad with black powder rifles though, mostly its an interest thing. I'm mostly about smokeless.
>>25225769
In all fairness almost all practice ammo is "war ammo" and the cost of stocking enough 20mm ammo for a private citizen would probably be enough to bancrupt a couple of african countries.
>>25225920
This.
There's a half-million rounds of 14.5x114 APIT for about 750 grand you could order if you wanted. It would go well with DShK heavy machine guns too, I wish I could afford it all.
>>25225907
I recently got into black powder, the gun regs here in Sweden are crazy so it's appealing not having to muck about with license applications since they're considered antiqes.
Here's my collection as of now.
when i was a kid, i'd get a new console every christmas. the best was when i got my gamecube. i played super mario sunshine non-stop.
>>25225969
Puuurdy. I did enjoy shooting a BP revolver once, the smell was very nice.
In Canada, pistols require a more extensive license and can only be fired at a range, but antiques are in another class. There are revolvers classified as antiques requiring no special license or range to use, pretty interesting stuff.
I should get into it because it is fun, but with how I don't have anywhere else than the range to shoot regardless I can't justify the costs right now over ammo to feed all the girls.
>>25226054

>>25226060
Haha i've got a mate from Canada who's been living in Sweden dodging a prison sentence back home for attacking transvestites in Toronto but he's an avid hunter so we go hunting every month or so and he's got the maximum allowed number of hunting rifles here in Sweden which is 6.
His brother phoned him up and they got to talking and he asked him how many guns he had and when i told him he only had 6 his brother got really worried and started asking if everything was ok and if he needed to send some money :)
I've been thinking about moving to Canada for a couple of years now and with the new EU gun regs coming i'd better get to it before high river hits.
>>25226148
I smiled at "worried because only 6", that's beautiful. Warms my heart, but why would he attack transvestites?
I just hope Trudeau doesn't fuck it up right now. He doesn't have enough brain cells to rub together, so its obvious he's going for "ban everything". I'm trying to move to the States, but right now I want to wait for the elections in hope of Trump.
>>25226229
Haha mostly because they apparently carried alot of cash, and he's a really conservative and judgemental christian westboroesqe type of guy.
Apparently they drove around in a yellow Camaro attacking people walking down the street :p
Yeah that's the impression i got from watching him too, honestly don't know if Trump is any better though, that man is so far up his own asshole that he's gone full circle and his head is where it's supposed to be.
The Czech republic is another good alternative if you like shooting and they've already said they won't use the new EU regulations.

I was in your shoes 3 years ago living in a shitty apartment basically a prisoner since i didn't think i could afford to move and was afraid to even change apartments because of some damages to the floor that i'd be forced to pay for if i moved.
But i eventually went for it and took a loan for a small farm where i live now.
Great to have some woodlands to roam around in and not having to worry about making too much noice.

If you ever get the opportunity then go for it, hell i didn't think i could afford it but figured that "what the hell life sucks now so how can 6 months of better living be worse" but turns out i managed to keep it and not go bancrupt mostly because i suddenly had the energy to do things instead of just sitting infront of the computer all day feeling like crap.
Still to that though and i'm a social misfit but now i can do the things i love so... yeah it's better :)
My parents got me a Razer Blackwidow Chroma and the girl i asked out(my best friend) wanted to remain friends and still talks to me so o guess this year has its good sides.

Nothing wrong with a .22 1911, sure it's not a "proper" 1911 but it has the classic look and it's both fun and cheap to shoot allowing you to practice and when the day comes and you get the big brother you'll already be comfortable with the gun.

It's a regular semi auto, you can watch people shoot them on youtube.
>>25227620
I'm actually surprised such an anemic round can cycle in a modern pistol
>>25227530
First of all i'm not OP i'm just defending the little .22 it's a fun little piece of hardware.
And it's most likely a straight blowback design so it's just a matter of choosing the right spring for it to cycle.
You won't use the same spring as in a .45ACP, maybe you'd get half an inch or so of travel with such a hard spring but it wouldn't feed.
Really simple design so cycling isn't an issue just like it isn't an issue in buckmarks, m&p 22s, 10/22s or marlins.
>>25227647
Op here
It's a straight blowback and does have a different spring when I deconstructed it. Anon was right.
>>25227530
>>25227635
The Browning 1911-22 is a specific model at 80% scale that is meant to fire .22LR from the get-go. I tried two of them out with over five thousand rounds of cheap ammo and never had a single stoppage, the Browning 1911-22 is a really nice, reliable little .22LR.
IIRC there are conversion slides for regular 1911s that have a .22LR barrel, recoil spring, and magazine if you want to do that, and those should cycle as normal. These conversion slides (along with the aforementioned 1911-22) are straight blowback and not "recoil" operated (the full name for the regular 1911 action is "browning short recoil linked action", with the barrel locked into the frame until both frame and barrel recoil about a quarter inch, to which point the link pulls the barrel down in a tilting action, unlocking it from the slide, and the slide continues to do the rest of the cycle) as the normal .45 ACP would be.
>>25227635
It's really not that anemic, sure in a short barrel even stingers won't be pushing more than 1000-1200fps but it still packs a punch.
Not what you'd call a "man stopper" but it'll blow a hole through a couple of 2x4s with energy to spare and if push comes to shove with the minimal recoil you can really ruin someones day by putting 3-4 shots in a concentrated area.
>>25227769

There are a truckload of semi-automatic .22 pistols (and rifles), and there have been for a century. It's nothing particularly surprising.
Sweet gun. I'd like one of those for a plinker. Maybe with a threaded barrel for a suppressor.

The amount of "lol .22lr is a pea shooter pellet rifle wouldn't even break the skin lol stopped by a single sheet of paper kek weak shit" in this thread is pretty fucking cringeworthy.
.22LR is in no way a preferred self-defense caliber. .22LR should only be considered for serious purpose (i.e. defense and so on) in a very last resort.
However it is not a fucking airsoft 6mm BB and it will kill you right the fuck dead. There's thousands and thousands of people, animals, and big animals that have been killed and will continue to be killed by the .22LR.
>>25227903
With a regular 1911 action it wouldn't even move, you're right about that. .22LR just doesn't have the power to displace a barrel and slide, then unlock the barrel, and have the slide continue by inertia to cycle the gun. Technically it might be possible if you had the thinnest steel liner in a plastic barrel (steel liner being key here, currently exists in the AR-7) and a very lightweight ventilated aluminum slide and very light action spring, but straight blowback is superior to all that noise for a .22LR.
>>25227944
I guess that counts as a happy memory. My sister and I got a great laugh out of that and had jokes going the rest of the trip.
>>25227903
Funny thing, the 22lr has a higher chamber pressure than the .45.
I think the .22lr has a maximum chamber pressure just under 25 000PSI and the .45 is in the 21-23 000PSI region.
The .45 gives out alot more gas though even if the pressure is slightly lower so it allows for a gas system instead of just blowback.
>>25227992
Shit. You're totally right.

>>25228038
Indeed. .22LR has like 2 grains of powder or something tiny like that, and usually a 40 grain bullet.
.45 has a lot more powder, and usually a 230 grain bullet.
>>25227997
I'm not saying it's a great calibre for self defence but it's got more bite than it gets credit for and it bites deep.
Sure the deep bite is mostly because it's such a small calibre and it's rubbish at delivering it's energy so you get penetration instead but you won't stop it with a sheet of paper or the armor of contempt.
Stepfather got me a Glock 26 because he knows I'm getting my CHL next month and my mother bought me an SLR-107FR because I lent her some money a few months ago and she wanted to splurge on me this year in exchange.
I'm very lucky to have parents that support my /k/ habits.

Grenade launchers are restricted in most areas but you can get 37mm versions of most launchers that are registred as flareguns.
I've seen a couple of examples of the M79 in 37mm and you can get alot of fun ammo for it lika smoke grenades, cs-grenades or just remove the payload and fill the fucker with shotgun beanbags whatever rocks your boat.
Flareguns arent restricted in most places so go for it dude.
>>25228422
IIRC the launcher itself is legal, but It's a 200$ tax stamp per grenade and the grenades themselves are already prohibitively expensive because no one buys rifle grenades, driving up the price due to it being a niche item. The launcher too, I can't imagine there's a ton of M79s just floating around on the open market being bought and sold often enough to make them cheap.
>>25228497
*watching anime
was gonna write playing vidya but too lazy for that shit tbqfa
>>25228350
Internal ballistics is a complex science. You can make crazy pressure with very little powder or barely any pressure with a giant amount of powder depending on the case geometry, bullet, barrel throat, and most of all powder burn rate. For example, the 416 Rigby burns anywhere between 80 and 100 grains of powder, operating at 40000PSI or so, while the 224 Weatherby runs at fucking 60+, maybe 70000PSI (from memory, but its a lot) with like 30 grains of powder.
You can make pretty much any rifle cartridge astronomical spontaneous-disassemble supernova pressure with pistol powder.
>>25228422
M79s are gonna be expensive, so is the ammo. Cheeto rounds should be possible to find, explosive stuff not so much because each explosive round would need individual tax stamping/200 dollars/months of paperwork.
I shot a 302 at the range in Canada with cheeto rounds, it was neat. Up here they go for like 3500 bucks and I don't know about the ammo. IIRC a 'nam transferrable M79 in the states is like ten thousandish+.
>>25228498
oh yeah this should be added onto >>25228543
>you can get alot of fun ammo for it lika smoke grenades, cs-grenades or just remove the payload and fill the fucker with shotgun beanbags whatever rocks your boat.
there's also stuff like "beehive" rounds that are just a cylinder you load a bunch of smaller rounds into, and baton rounds that are basically the same idea as a shotgun slug except it's made out of hard plastic and is intended to just break all of your ribs at once instead of killing you outright.

>Mass shootings every day
That's if liberals do the counting.
Even the FBI states there has been "only" 21 mass shootings in 2015 by their own criteria. That 300+ number was made up by some random guy o reddit and the leftist media all ran with it.
Either way, I would gladly let the liberal scum and inner-city minorities keep on shooting each other. It's the 21st century of eugenics

Not this anon, but to add on to this, that number is framed as if these "everyday" mass shootings are "crazy white kid blasting up his school", when in reality, it's black on black gang violence (which, coincidentally, makes up the overwhelming vast majority of gun crime in the United States, not mass shootings, and is primarily centralized in a few major urban centers such as Detroit, Chicago, D.C., New Orleans, etc. etc.)

The number wasn't made up. There was some incorrect data but all of it is sourced and since it's a publicized effort errors and noticed and corrected.
It's actually liberals who disagree with his criteria for mass shootings because it brings to light the fact that the majority of mass shootings are committed by inner city minorities. His criteria is the most inclusive. I don't think mass shootings should only be defined as phenomena in which the intended targets are chosen indiscriminately in a public setting, nor should they be defined as events in which an appropriate amount of people have to die from their wounds in order for it to be considered a mass shooting. In other words, if 3 people are shot and none of them dies it's still a mass shooting, people were still shot.
What's the FBI's criteria for mass shootings? I know their criteria for mass murder (emphasis on murder) is or used to be 4 or more killed without a significant cooling period. I think mass shootings should be defined similarly: 4 or more shot without a cooling period.
If the FBI doesn't include familicides and gang-related violence, they are tallying up something other than "the total number of mass shootings that occurred in the US". They are tallying up indiscriminate rampage murders.
I hate christmas. Every fucking year it never changes.

Every year. Im so fucking bored. These shit heads aren't family, they're relatives. The only thing we have in common is a lineage and I'm supposed to "love" them?
Fuck this fucking meme. I feel like a piece of shit for it, but I'm actually kind of looking forward to my grandmother dying so this shit comes to an end.
Christmas is shit.
