Thinking-Ape quite often uses marriage statistics regarding divorce initiated by women to ascribe a fundamental difference between men and women in regards to selfishness and other traits considered negative to men in general. I would posit that he would rather use the data to justify his own behavior, rather than following the data. He never seems to bring up that men's motive in modern society, or any society really, is not necessarily to get married and support a woman throughout their life. The instincts are to spread genetics as much as possible. You would then need to include the statistics of women who get duped into having children of no-account men and once that is considered, the differences between men and women generally are negligible in relation to selfishness.
