/r9k/ has a pretty different perception of human group dominance mechanics from actual reality. Thoughts?
>Alpha: someone who actually elicits trust from a group and thus has power over the actions of the whole. May not actually broadcast their decision, but is (whether aware or not) the person who can singlehandedly change the direction of a group's actions due to the members' genuine trust in them.
>Beta: someone who is part of a group who follows an alpha. Simple as that.
>Omega: someone who does not work with a group, and who exists with their own pacing and structure. I'd put most robots as normally being in this category for most of their time.
>Pseudo-alpha: so-called "Chads" and "Jamals". These people use coercion and manipulation to influence a group's direction, sometimes decisively, but in the long run debilitate the group as their influence grows. These people often are individuals who lack the ability to legitimately develop trust between themselves and others, and compensate by harming others and using fear of harm to control a social environment.
These groups are entirely-dependent on context: one can be an alpha in one group, and a beta the next, and even a pseudo-alpha in another if they choose. Though people have a tendency to try to act as one depending on their personality, and try to stick with it even if their effective role changes.
TL;DR: /r9k/ does not know how to interact with people, no shit Sherlock, you are all autistic and always have been as we have always known
