They've just been pasted onto a cute girl character to drive popularity and sales. I got GNM in like 20 games and then was still stuck there after 120 hours, though I was able to hold my own when I played with MGE and even DMG friends. I think I was mostly stuck because I played mostly SoloQ and for every good team I got, I had two other games where I lead my team with 20-30 kills and we still lost.
