Its pretty nice knowing that centuries ago my ancestors told their children the same stories and celebrated the same things, you know?
It's possible that you are descended from slaves if you are American, which makes it difficult to investigate your ancestry. If you get your genome tested I think you might be able to find out where your ancestors came from though? It's pretty cheap these days. It might help.
