I for one enjoy it, I didn't like my parents much growing up but I value them now and they respect my decisions, I owe them good things for giving me the resources to get this far and I feel this giving to them is a small way of saying thank you and that showing I really do value them.
I could write this differently.
For example...
I don't and never will have someone else because 0/10 genetics but my parents won't abandon me so I'm almost paying ransom for my sanity.
