Is having a partner becoming more and more necessary due to cost of living?

In a spousal sense, I don't think so. Sometimes it costs more per person to have a relationship with someone than otherwise. Roommates can achieve that same economical goal without forming a relationship (is that what you are refering to with "partner"?)
Nah having a woman makes you buy shit you don't need.
it could help, but it also makes you financially reliant on one another. recipe for disaster pendejo
No, there's always ways to live beneath your means. Sometimes it's tough in low-wage scenarios, but until you're financially independent, you should always put some effort towards raising your marketability.
I've been single since I was 17 for various reasons, and thought being single would be the cheapest option, but now it seems like relationships make financial sense. I can't afford an apartment by myself, and my budget percentages aren't where I want it to be. All my buddies live with their girlfriends.
I'm not saying obtain a girl/boyfriend for the sake of financial stability, but having an even partially combined incomes seems like it would alleviate off some stress.
