The past 3 years I spent it alone in my room watching cute SoL's like lucky star and shitposting on chans and irc chats, and honestly theyve been the best christmas ive ever had, sadly I'll have to spend this one with them. Fuck this shit senpai.

I hate being lonely on Christmas, and for some reason its even worse that I'm spending it with my mom for this year.
I am home for Christmas now, and I hate it at least 10 times as much as when I'm home for other breaks. Everything my family does is amplified to be as annoying as possible. Only my brother is an asshole, my mom and dad are nice but they are stupid as fuck. Especially my mother, Jesus Christ it's a miracle I'm not retarded coming from them. I just want to go back to my own empty house a state away and sit there for 3 weeks until school starts

I'm looking forward to more arguments at the dinner table this year, and more status "games" where everyone tries to goad everyone else into admitting their fuckups so they can not feel as bad about their own failures.
I'm the family yardstick considering everyone elses' kids have dropped out of college or are in the process of doing so, so they'll hit me the hardest like they do every year.
I get really sick of the music and incessant advertising that starts around fucking halloween nowadays. And I very much wish that everyone I know could just have an agreement not to buy presents or (worse, in some ways) cards for each other, it'd make everything so much easier and less stressful.

I try not to be one, but there's no way to avoid it. I was an edgelord atheist when I was a teenager, but I learned to just shut up and not talk about it, which works 99% of the time; it's pretty rare to have someone directly ask about your religious beliefs. With christmas you don't get that choice though, all the people who love it are on your case for being insufficiently enthusiastic, and all the christmas culture is everywhere. On TV, the radio, in every single store in the nation, everywhere. There's nowhere to go to just avoid it.
