Anyone else here have some weird hobbies that they do for absolutely no reason?

I'm really bad at writing, but I've spent several years writing a 6 book fantasy series that literally no one besides me has ever seen. I finished writing it a year ago and I still go back and re-read my favorite parts, I've written up a small "handbook" about the world/characters and what not and I generally spend a lot of time thinking about this fantasy world that I've created. I often even feel a bit sad about adding certain parts to the book (even though I can go back and remove it, it just doesn't feel right"

Post the first page faggot

Let us read it bitch

Nah, it starts off really slow, Imo the first book is definitely the weakest because I had no idea where I was going with it. The second and third book are great, the fourt and six books kind of just tie up loose ends and the fifth book was was probably the best in my opnion, fun to write, really advanced the story, had several major character arcs and deaths, explained plots/conspiracies that I started in book one by accident due and effectively "retconned" my mistakes.

Basically it's set in a fantasy world that's like early to mid 19th century, with slight magical/steampunky elements thrown in here and there. It's set 17 years after a huge global war that caused a gigantic economic crisis, a plague and was followed by several natural disasters that religious people claim are God's punishment for the way people acted during the war. The Nine Year War was basically a notorious general taking power from a corrupt republic and expanding the country through brutal warfare which eventually ended when the entire world united against him and finally defeated him.

The guy was very reactionary/conservative and wanted to isolate his own country from the entire world, which basically resulted in everyone trying to act the exact opposite of him because he's basically seen as the devil and the sole cause of the natural disaster, the economic crisis and the whole war.

At the same time, there's a continent that's being colonised/explored/settled by a lot of people and the aftermath of the economic collapse is making people seek their fortune there and has left a lot of countries/governments unstable.

The book starts with a scribe being fired from his job because his boss found a foreigner who'll literally work for a loaf of bread. He goes home and laments that all of his friends (he didn't have that many) have left the city to sign up with the military/navy or just to seek their fortunes elsewhere, but he doesn't have any skills that would allow him to do the same since all that he's good at is manual labour and writing. His mom promptly dies and he is left homeless after their shack is repossesed by her majesty's government. He then gets recruited by a chartered joint stock company to help establish a colony/settlement/company in the new continent. The whole trading company is actually just a rich kid from the royal family being bored and ends up being a huge disasater with the rich kid being killed and everthing going to shit.

OP just post the books

Maybe you're sitting on something with potential

You can't presume how other people will feel about it
>>
If you can't get them published just release them online for free, they sound pretty interesting.
If you wanted to get them published re write the books that seemed the worst and improve them
>>
>>25174602
I don't read a lot of books but this sounds pretty awful. Like, what is meant to make me want to read this? Wow.
>>
Sounds pretty interesting. I have been thinking about some fantasy world elements, but can't really write them down, they just are in my head. Of course not that massive scale like yours.
>>
>>25174703
No, nobody is meant to read it, I wrote it for fun and I didn't plan anything out, I literally made almost everything up as I went up to the third book, where I actually spent a good amount of time planning out what was going to happen and how it would get to certain points.
>>
>>25174602

Post the books OP, or even just a chapter or two. This sounds like the sort of complicated world and story line that people would either love or hate. Probably can make you good money if you get it published.
>>
Sounds pretty good desu. I'd read them
>>
>>25174602

legit sounds interesting, if i had like 48 hours in a day i would probably read it
but post like a page or something, im pretty sure autism gets the better of you and it will actually sound very stupid and awkward and like the scribbles of an aspie 8 year old
>>
>>25174602
I like it desu, lots of potential

I'd read it if it was up somewhere
>>
>>25173905
>several years
Have you tried writing something new and getting published?

Most authors have to practice for like 10 years before they get published.
