The quietness and nothingness of death are honestly very comforting. Sure, as biological organisms, every nerve in our bodies is telling us to avoid death and so we naturally fear it. But ask yourselves, what is there to really fear? You will not be able to feel anything because there won't be a "you" anymore. Your body, your personality, your mind -- everything that once made you disintegrates into the darkness of eternity. There will be no more pain, no more overarching sense of meaninglessness and futility, no more anxiety -- only the peace of nonexistence. Forever.
I fear death too, but it is only a primal fear. Philosophically speaking, I welcome the release it offers.
