Some advice for the young and balding: If you're really stressed out about your hair loss you need to make the decision to go on treatment or not as soon as possible and then just stop thinking about it. I used to be constantly obsessed with my hair loss and would take hundreds of pictures a day from different angles to see how my hair/hairline looks. My obsession severely affected my university performance and my grades completely tanked for a few semesters. What you have to realize is that outside of treatment there's nothing you can do to help prevent hair loss so there's no use stressing over something you can't affect. Also you should avoid hair loss sites like the plague. Check these sites maybe once a year just to see if there's any advancements in treatment but don't linger or you'll be dragged into the misery of the forum users. I had heard this kind of advice when I was still stressing and it didn't really sink in at first but eventually I just got tired of hair loss taking up so much mental energy that I completely stopped caring about it beyond taking my fin and applying rogaine.

If you want to see where your "original" hairline is: raise your eyebrows; the top ridge of your forehead-wrinkles is generally where your hairline originally started.
