Any of you robots had success with quitting drinking?
>>
haha no, its my only escape from this harsh reality
>>
I quit drinking.

The main catalyst was reading the book "The Mood Cure"

There is some bullshit in here, but after reading it I quit drinking and smoking, and started cooking and eating well.

Got a gf within 6 months of going into a self-cleansing monk-mode. I was at home reading instead of out drinking myself to death

I'm 50% normie by birth though so ymmv

You have to address the reason that you're drinking or you're never going to be able to quit long-term. If you're drinking because you're depressed, get on depression meds. If you're drinking because you're stressed, get out of the stressful situation or find a way of coping without drinking.

The physical dependency is a bitch, but the mental aspect of alcoholism is where the addiction really is.

Yeah, it took a while but I'm finally 100% sober 1 month going (preceded by a bit of a turbulent period of 5-6 months were I was drinking 1-2 times a week before which I was getting black out drunk every night for a few years).

Its doable but it does take time and effort. Disulfram (prescription name anabuse or antabuse) helped a lot but ultimately you need to want it a lot what finally happened for me

>Had the cops called on me
>No charges filed but on thin ice
>Finally get qt gf who loves me about a week later
>>
I quit smoking, alcohol and caffeine all in the same week.

Cry more you fucking undisciplined pussies.

Oh yes, anon, replace addiction to alcohol with addiction to anti-depressants. Pills totally cure the underlying reason for drinking.

Any side effects?
>>
>>25113501

Some might say I was a robot until I fixed myself

Others will say I never was

But I promise you that The Mood Cure will make you feel better than the pharma poison, regardless of your status

>>25113243

Going on 2 months sober in a few days.

Why would I want to quit? As long as I can afford it I"ll never stop.

I did quit dxm syrup. I can't choke it down anymore. I was sad until I found out the anti-coricidn crew is just memes wanting all the cheap dxm for themselves. I take a whole sleeve no problem aside from the usual fucked up heart rate and blood pressure. I also ran the numbers. robogels isn't that much more than generic orange and asshole flavored 90mg/oz dxm syrup. If you cut it with 2 or 3 coricidins it comes out to be a few cents cheaper even. The last two times I did syrup I puked. penultimate time I only puked once, the last time though I puked 6 times, maybe 7, you know how it fucks memory. I also shat liquid foam for a good 30 minutes. I had to keep toilet paper in my hand to hold onto my asshole while I turned around to puke for fear of blasting the wall with shit. Pills for life now forever. Fuck syrup.

My biggest question right now is do I take 4 cccs, 4 benadryls, and 4 unisoms, or just unisom and benadryl with 120ml of 51.5% bourbon? Alcohol and dxm don't mix well. I just feel the numbness but little fo the dxm warmth and childlike regression.

Dxm is really the best drug in the world though. I like it more than ketamine or even mxe. The only thing that comes close is chewing fresh salvia, but even that's very different from dxm. Dxm is magic.

Then you were never addicted. Not really. You don't understand addiction if you can claim to have done that and that people who cannot are "pussies"

How many cigs a day? Be honest. How many drinks?
>>
>>25113581

Not him but I drank bourbon daily for a few months, usually two or three drinks a night. I also smoked hookah about three times a week, the tangiers and nakhla stuff, unwashed so it's full nicotine content, and I would use nasal snuff the days I didn't hookah, it's just powdered tobacco so I"m assuming it's full nicotine as well, maybe a little high because if I did both nostrils I would get wobbly at the knees. I couldn't quit caffeine but alcohol and nicotine were a piece of cake. I'd just think I'd really like to smoke at times and that was it. Alcohol was a sleep aid so maybe it doesn't count, but the nicotine was legit cravings. I'd rate them to be about half as bad as caffeine cravings though. Coke zero is a bitch to come off of.

I joined the Army. Did 7 weeks without a drop, lost 11 kgs. Shit thing is they gave us 2 weeks off over xmas and now Im back at home putting away a bottle of whiskey a day, already packed on 3 kegs in 6 days.

Its really crazy but Im actually looking forward to going back and finishing recruit training because I know its the best thing for me.

I cant help myself. As soon as I get bored and start drinking and I dont stop. There is nothing else I want to do with me spare time.
>>
>can't smoke because of job's drug tests
>been drinking twice what I did before
>want to quit
>realize the few social connections I have are from the bar I frequent
>the only social functions around me that don't involve drinking are the gatherings of the Jesus freaks.

I have not really had a social life for the past few years because I have been paying down student loans. Now that I have some money for fun I get into a 5-8 drinks a night habit...

I did DMX twice about 7 years back. I swear I am still messed up from it.

No shit. You don't become an alcoholic in a couple of months. I considered myself lucky to have quit after three years of heavy daily drinking and that was still a real bitch.

You go 6-8 years and you can die from withdrawals.

Its just not comparable.

Im not in the US.

And you guys are soft ass cunts, Ide know Im ex-navy.

I do notice the hangovers lasting longer and longer. I've gotten to where when I'm not super fucked up the next morning I'm scared I'm permanently retarded and the downy brain fog has become my new normal and I'm too retarded to realize how stupid I am. This shit definitely kills brain cells. It just feels so damn good though. It's like being a kid again, and I"m getting another chance to enjoy all my childhood favorite vidya and movies all over again. Fucking balto, we're back, land before time, rock-a-doodle, disney everything, all that shit. It just might be worth the tradeoff in braincells.

After a heavy night on the piss I woke up and forgot my credit card pin. Had the PIN for like 3 years and just forgot it. Was even using it the night before. I got to the point where I was forgetting family members names. Thats when I made a drastic change. Now once a month I go to a hotel in the city and drink myself nearly to death. Then I dont touch the stuff for another month. Ill never give it up completely but I control it now. Kinda like quarantining myself, jeckle and hyde style.
