If anyone here is ever legitimately starving, I recommend going behind a grocery store where the dumpsters are at early in the morning(just avoid the big rig trucks making deliveries) and waiting for them to throw out their bakery items. I used to work in a market and every day we had to throw out shopping carts full of perfectly good bread, cookies, and cakes because they were out of code. Sanitary too since most of it was still sealed in plastic wrappers/containers. Sometimes there would be homeless out there waiting and I would just hand them all kinds of donuts, rolls, and bagels.

Just make sure you don't eat anything that's been sitting out there too long or has been eaten by someone else.
