This is a difficult question. I will try to answer it, but I'll have to speak in broad terms because of the post limit. I'll give some resources below if you're more interested.
1. It must be done along anarchist lines. Anarchism, historically speaking, is a socialist movement advocating the abolition of hierarchy i.e., capitalism, the state, among other things. Anarchist organization is therefore horizontal and voluntary, and advocates the use of consensus decision-making or direct democracy to come to decisions. Each individual in a given community therefore has direct say in what happens in their community. Communities are free to make rules as they see fit, given that the members of the community agree to them.
2. Organization on a larger scale is handled by confederations of sorts. Communities would be represented by delegates, who have no power in and of themselves. The delegate's job is to represent the views of their community in said confederations. However, the process differs from the state in a number of ways. Along with having no power themselves, delegates cannot enact decisions. Whatever conclusions delegates reach when in discussion with those of other communities must be agreed upon by the members of the individual communities by the methods I listed above.
3. Anarchist communities must, to the best of their abilities, become self-sufficient. At least with regard to basic resources. Further, anarchists must become hackers of sorts, making creative use of readily available resources to solve problems.
So, basic resources are handled on a small scale. Redistribution of more complex resources happens as necessary among communities via confederations. Of course I am speaking of ideal conditions and in very broad terms. I didn't want to go into too much detail here. More info can be found in An Anarchist FAQ and Anarchy Works by Peter Gelderloos.

Resources in scale are easier to produce and more time effective.
If we're taking about ideal societies, why not a centralized socialist society with food, shelter, and clothing given to all citizens, as well as a basic dividend? Anyone serving as engineers and farmers would be given special status but no more political power. Schools could be focused on really teaching the hard sciences with a logical progression and no dumbing down. The population could cycle through as laborers.
Almost like Sparta without being spartan.
People could gather more wealth as able but the minimum would have to be met.
