Self improvement thread
Talk about exercise, literature and anything in between

Can anyone post survival infographics? Things like how to build traps and how to light fires.

hardmode do ten push ups every time you post in this thread

Self-improvement is a scam. You are what you were born to be and what you inherit is all that determines your worth.
>>
>>25083442
Disagree completely. Some people only think like this because of laziness or impatience.
>>
>>25083384
what drives me away from this board is people like >>25083442, doing a big effort to justify all the things that he hates about his own life.

It'd be quicker and easier to improve yourself. It's easier to find a job than posting 24/7 about how NEET life roxxx
>>
>>25083503
You're chasing shadows. There are winners in life, and losers in life. Nothing you do can change that. If you want to improve, you first realize and accept who you are and always will be.

Good call. Will post upon request a fairly detailed block on one of the healthiest diets and how diet can make a huge impact on your day-to-day life and mental state/overall level of satisfaction, and the ultimate impact on your health.

Just promise me someone will screen it and repost to those not in the know. This is based on 1-2 years of research on health/diet.

Firstly I'm gonna start it off with what I've only recently realised. Pay a lot of attention to your body. It's been honed over many years of evolution to grab your attention, listen to it and respond accordingly. Everyone's body chemistry is different and therefore their bodies react differently to certain foods.

This is only a theory, but I strongly believe stomache aches especially and also other digestion-related pains are a sign that the food (or the food combination) you're feeding your body (even if it's considered healthy) is not what or how your body wants (it). In these situations, either some of the food in your stomach is blocking absorption of certain nutrition from other parts of the food, OR you're giving your body an imbalance of a certain nutrient or whatnot which will imbalance your body's system - both which will lead to systemic issues down the road which you'll really wish you prevented by listening to your body. I believe that just a few weeks or months of ignoring these signs will lead to chronic issues which will never stop until addressed.

You might have a point with your body not wanting it but the stuff you think about the systematic issues of your body are absolutely retarded
>>
>>25084534
Aight.

>cut processed foods hugely or entirely out of your diet
>anything natural is good and best for you unless your body reacts badly to it (see previous post)

Some very healthy stuff to eat on a daily basis (google for doses etc):
>coconut oil
>butter (melt it on ALL your veg and meat, fucking delicious too)
>berries (blueberries are best)
>nuts (walnuts are the superfood one, but google "phytic acid" firstly)
>advocados
>all animal fats (whole eggs, full-fat milk (preferably raw/unpasturised)
>english breakfast (eggs/bacon/sausage) is a good one
>stuck for ideas? think natural
>AVOID added sugar

Myths BTFO:
>saturated fat is actually the best fat for you (most stable), then mono-saturated fat, then polyunsatured fat is the worst (cancer-causing)
>use vegetable oils with high saturated fat and low polyunsaturated fat, plus a high smoke-point to
>fat doesn't actually make you fat, excess carbs and excess calories do
>fruit doesn't actually spike insulin, eat that shit all day
>vegetables are great, add a fat to them (butter) to absorb more nutrition

Other stuff:
>inflammation, toxic overload and cell oxygen starvation is the root of pretty much all disease
>detoxification is very important since the dawn of the industrial revolution (chemicals everywhere) and awful-fucking-diet-"revolution" (will expand on this)
>bad diet can cause chronic depression, serious learning difficulties, anger problems, insomnia, ALL kinds of shitty stuff
>good diet + good detox = almost no diseases, ever
>excess carbs from added sugar = regular insulin spike = chronic inflammation = disease
>avoid fluoride if possible - use fluoride-free toothpaste; your dreams will feel like another life you've been missing out on for starters (plus there's a few significant health benefits)

Keep going?
>>
Already winning at life tbqh lads
>>
>>25084711
>the stuff you think about the systematic issues of your body are absolutely retarded

The body is entirely systemic. All organs work together and when given the correct nutrition work in harmony. Fuck up a balance of even one essential nutrient and you can throw the whole body off whack. A bad ratio of sodium/magnesium/potassium/calcium (I believe it is) for example can mess with the thyroid gland and cause sleep issues or "ADHD" which will affect everything.
>>
Why do you robots improve yourself? What's the end goal for it? I'm severely lacking motivation and I need reminders of why we're doing this.
>>
>>25084858
Please do, I might actually start taking notes
>>
>>25084858
More very healthy stuff to eat on a daily basis (google for doses etc):
>dark chocolate
>dairy (cheese, etc) if you're not lactose intolerant
>seeds (again careful with the phytic acid)
>dark leafy greens = god-tier
>>
>>25084858
Let me just compare it to my diet really quick, then we'll see.

>cut processed foods hugely or entirely out of your diet
Did that a few years ago
>anything natural is good and best for you unless your body reacts badly to it (see previous post)
did this a few years ago too

>coconut oil
not sure if this is true, will google
>butter (melt it on ALL your veg and meat, fucking delicious too)
pretty sure this isn't would like to see a source
>berries (blueberries are best)
there aren't too many berries where I live
>nuts (walnuts are the superfood one, but google "phytic acid" firstly)
I should try and pick this up
>advocados
love this
>all animal fats (whole eggs, full-fat milk (preferably raw/unpasturised)
Milk is unhealthy and I don't know how true this is either. Sounds weird, would like to see source.
>english breakfast (eggs/bacon/sausage) is a good one
see previous
>stuck for ideas? think natural
great
>AVOID added sugar
this basically

moar
>>
>>25084956
go to /pol/ every day for a week and you'll understand. They are crazy, they are jesters, but a lot of what they say is the saturated truth.ww
>>
>>25084961
It will change you and your family's lives.

More very healthy stuff to eat on a daily basis (google for doses etc):
>1-2+ grams of natural mineral-rich sea-salt (celtic is best and safest out of all I've researched; this alone can have a big positive impact on your health)
>dairy (cream)
>liver (extremely healthy but bad taste; can take dessicated liver supplements instead)
>MSM crystals supplement (sulphur) - essential to good health; soil is largely depleted of sulphur these days
>juicing (see below)
>sweet potatoes

Detox:
>detox has become a money-making meme with all these mostly-useless supplements out there, but its foundations are still entirely real
>best detox is the most natural
>juicing - do a juicing fast detox of about 5 500ml bottles of mostly-vegetable juice a day, drinking 250ml per hour at the most (to avoid your body wasting it), spread across the day; do this until your piss stops smelling like strong chemicals (its the toxins) and you start to feel fucking amazing
>maintenance juicing - 250-500ml or so of juice a day - drink it very fresh
>heavy metal detoxer - food-grade sodium/calcium bentonite clay (internal + external (bathing with it) use)
>activated charcoal powder (toxin remover)
>food-grade diatomaceous earth powder to kill parasites

Other stuff:
>table salt is poison and entirely unnatural, ditch it
>organic stuff is usually a waste of money because it's still grown with many carcinogenic natural chemicals
>heavy metal toxicity fuck your body up big time; and you bet your ass you've got a lot in your body
>careful with heavy metal detoxification - it must be done gradually or you can end up killing yourself
>>
>>25085006
Forgot to say, only get raw organic cold-pressed coconut oil. Possibly the healthiest stuff on earth, if not one of the most.

It would be really cool if someone could put this together a bit better and screencap it or whatever.

>Milk is unhealthy and I don't know how true this is either. Sounds weird, would like to see source.

Research ketogenic/high-fat diet on this part.

This is what I'm reading right now. I'm a bit psychotic right now because my meds aren't quite right, and some of my fascinations are religion and transgression.

>Bhagavad Gita
>The Golden Bough
>Principles of Neurotheology
>Theory of Religion (Bataille)
>Blue of Noon (Bataille)
>Introduction to Quantum Mechanics (Griffiths)
>Metamorphoses

It feels like the text is talking back to me when I read it, like I can feel this supernatural energy from it. Thinking about going to a hospital, but I'd need to bring some books with me to stay sane.

Diet guy here. I've experienced terrifying derealisation and extreme conscious memory loss. I believe nearly all mental illnesses can be cured with good diet and also working on the mind. Follow my diet advice, and then this mind-stuff:

>meditation
>mindfulness
>stop negative thought loops, replace with positive ones
>stop obsessing over your illness, stop paying it so much attention

Probably a few other things like having a healthy social life (reee) and self-esteem go a long way too.
>>
>>25085389
I have to say it's giving me a weird unsettling feeling just reading your stuff.
>>
short term goals/ check list:
>improve facial appearance (visiting orthodontist soon to get palate expansion, double jaw surgery, and braces)
>cure peanut allergy (eat 2 peanuts daily)
>im an exmouthbreather, ive been nose breathing for a year during the day but i need to research how to do it at night
>ENT surgery to fix deviated septum (will help with nose breathing)
>fix forward head (with exercises, sitting properly, and sleeping on harder surfaces)
>continue exercising
>continue maintaining a good GPA
>improve social skills (gotta research first then implement)
>get a drivers license

fuckin fags in this thread
>>
>>25085553

>improve social skills (gotta research first then implement)
I encourage you not to do research, but instead go out and be more social. Otherwise, like I did for a long time, you'll get stuck in thinking about how you'll improve without actually doing anything. Just use common sense. You already know how to become more social. Join a group or take a night class, make smalltalk when you're waiting somewhere.
>>
>>25085630
>you cant know the cure of something unless you experience it yourself
doctor's must be superhuman then
>>
>>25085630
>only
Have you had derealisation? I know it's not classed as a mental illness, but chronically it definitely should be. It's one of the scariest things you can imagine. Don't talk shit about it until you experience it you dumb bitch.

Also don't talk shit about diet since you obviously don't know shit about that too. Fuck out of this thread already.

>>25085626
Many different websites and a few books ("Trick and Treat" by Groves is an excellent starter) as well as thinking a lot (philosophically, nature-wise, caveman times, etc.), piecing the dots together.
>>
>>25085630
I do believe something's going to happen soon and that I have to be prepared for it. I spent all my money because I don't think I'm going to make it past this month. I can see this as irrational from someone else's perspective but it feels different for me, within my head.

I'm not too sure on that one to be honest. Over a conventional diet though, fucking fuck yes. But make sure to take vitamin B-12 supplements and check what else you might need supplement-wise if you do.

>>
>>25086005
If that's the case, I struggle to believe that you would reject the idea that diet and mind-work can cure mental illnesses. If that is the case, you're extremely narrow-minded and that's probably the kind of stuff that lead you to the illnesses in the first place and is what sustains it.
>>
>>25086005
even though tripfags are terrible people with terrible opinions, i admire their ability to ignore negative feedback and keep coming back for more
>>
This could use more coverage
>>
>>25085941
Just asking because, I was tripping hard on shrooms once and convinced myself the best thing to do to avoid any kind of scary artificial foods was to go completely vegan. But that didn't last, still stuck in my head though - and I think becoming a vegetarian would be a good step in the right direction.
