Well, that seems really unfortunate, I'd like to console you, but most people would just try to cheer you up even if it was noticeable, it's really almost impossible to distinguish between them being dishonest and genuine, they'd never tell you that you were made ugly/worse or that it's hopeless.
Even if you're just plainly disfigured/ugly, it's best to kind of accept how you look regardless. You can try to hide your physical insecurities from others and try to get on their good side by playing your cards properly, but the only one you shouldn't cheat is yourself, you won't ever run away from who you are and if you try it won't probably end well.
