Potatoes take 7 minutes, tops, to par boil. While they're boiling you should have enough time to prep veggies, grate cheese, chop meat, etc. Pull out the potatoes, mash em, spice em, and add cream. Then leave it to set. During the fifteen minutes it takes to set, create the egg batter. Then bake for 1.25 hours. That's 25 minutes prep time and 1.25 hours cook time. Still only 1:40, even considering time spent in oven. But in terms of prep time, my dish still takes more time than yours. And prep time is more to do with the quality of a dish than cook time.
